A scuffle over Chinese noodles at a roadside eatery resulted in a murderous attack on two youths by a group of four hooligans in MIDC area on Sunday night. Cops have booked the four accused and searching to nab them.
The victims, Niraj Tarachand Payasi (28) and his friend Sanjay Suresh Durange (20), both residents of Rajiv Nagar, Ward No. 4, had gone to Soni Chinese Centre, situated at Zone Square, Hingna Road, for having noodles. Both Niraj and Sanjay placed an order for Chinese noodles with the eatery owner. However, the eatery owner supplied the noodles ordered by Niraj and Sanjay to the four accused Daddya, Munna, both residents of IC Square, and their two other accomplices. Offended by the eatery owner’s action, Niraj and Sanjay asked him for the reason. Suddenly, the four accused, without any provocation, attacked Niraj and Sanjay with iron rods and hit them on their heads. Sanjay received grievous injury in the attack and was being taken to hospital by Niraj. However, not satisfied by the bloody attack the four accused chased the victims and stopped them at IC Square. The accused again attacked both Niraj and Sanjay with iron rods and later fled the spot. The seriously injured Niraj and Sanjay were rushed to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital by the passersby where they are battling for life.
On the basis of statement given by Niraj, MIDC API Godbole has booked the four accused under Sections 307, 324, 34 of the IPC and searching for them.
