Nagpur: Two men were duped to the tune of Rs 41 lakh by a property dealer in a land deal. The accused property dealer, after taking the huge money, went absconding and has not been traced so far.
The accused has been identified as Abid Ali Jaffer Ali (47), resident of Nayapura, near Kalra Petrol Pump, Ganeshpeth area, made the two men Ayyub Khan Turaj Khan (48) and his friend of the same area his victims. The accused Abid Ali negotiated a deal on sale of a plot with Ayyub Khan and his friend and even showed documents of the said plot of land. However, before the deal could be finalized, the accused Abid Ali took Rs 41 lakh from Ayyub Khan and his friend. Soon after taking the huge money, Abid Ali went absconding leaving Ayyub Khan and his friend in the lurch. No deal was done.
Ganeshpeth API V J Chandanshive, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Ayyub Khan, has booked the absconding accused Abid Ali under Section 420 of IPC and launched a manhunt to nab him.
