Nagpur: A speeding school bus knocked a motorcyclist dead at Shahid Govari Flyover near Jhansi Rani Square on Thursday noon. The driver of the school bus has been arrested.
The deceased Manoj Devrao Doye (36) of Plot No. 36, Vathoda, on Thursday was going to Dhantoli on his Passion motorcycle (MH-31/DP 8702) via the Shahid Govari Flyover. Around 12 noon, a speeding school bus (MH-40/Y 7074) rammed Manoj’s bike at a spot opposite Maratha Mandir, Near Jhansi Rani Square. A critically injured Manoj was taken to Mayo Hospital but doctors there pronounced him ‘brought dead.’
Dhantoli WPSI Jadhav, based on a complaint of deceased Manoj’s father Devrao Doye (57), booked the school bus driver Devidas Haridas Somkuwar (25) of Rajiv Nagar, Hingna Road, under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and arrested him.
