Nagpur: The spurt in incidents in which women are being robbed by co-passengers in running autos is showing the city cops in poor light. One more woman was looted of cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.71 lakh. The robbing co-passengers are generally women who connive with auto drivers.
The complainant, Kumudini Sanjay Dekate (52), resident of E/25, KTPS Colony, New Koradi, around 2.45 pm on Tuesday boarded an auto at KTPS Colony Gate No. 2 for going to Mor Bhavan in Sitabuldi. During the travel, some con women who were sitting in the auto diverted attention of Kumudini and slyly pilfered her handbag containing cash Rs 1000, gold ornaments worth Rs 1.61 lakh and some important documents. By the time Kumudini could notice theft of her handbag, the con women disembarked the auto and fled the spot.
Koradi ASI Sunil has registered a case against the unidentified thieves under Section 379 of the IPC and searching for them.
