Nagpur: A group of unidentified goons went on rampage and vandalised house of a man, thrashed him and his wife, two minor daughters over a dispute in Pachpaoli area on Sunday night. In counter-complaint, one of the members of the group accused the man and his family of detaining him and bashing him severely. Cops have booked accused belonging to both the sides.

The trouble started when the complainant Tabbu Nasim Sheikh (18) and her younger sister, both residents of Plot No. 329, Siddharth Nagar, Teka, were eating snacks in front of their house around 7 pm on Sunday. Three unidentified persons, for reasons, hurled filthy abuses on both the sisters. Feeling offended by the abuses, Tabbu called her father who heckled the three miscreants. Enarged by the scolding, the three persons returned to the spot with 10-12 accomplices and went on rampage. They smashed CCTV camera installed in front of Tabbu’s house, entered her house forcibly and vandalised the households. The accused also thrashed Tabbu, her parents and her two sisters and threatened them.

Pachpaoli API Kedare, acting on Tabbu’s complaint, booked the unidentified goons under Sections 143, 147, 149, 452, 427, 323, 504, 506 of the IPC and investigating the case.

Meanwhile, one of the accused group members Shahbaz Rashid Khan (17), resident of Teka Nayee Basti, told police that he and his two friends were going on motorcycle to Indora around 7 pm on Sunday. Midway, Tabbu and her sister abused him and asked why he is staring at her. Over this reason, Tabbu called her father Nasim Sheikh Mansoori (45) who caught Shahbaz and took him to his house. There, the accused Nasim, his wife and three daughters bashed Shahbaz severely and locked him in a room. Shahbaz phoned his friend and informed him about the incident.

API Kedare, on the absis of Shahbaz’s complaint, booked the accused Nasim Sheikh Mansoori, his wife and three daughters under Sections 143, 147, 149, 452, 427, 323, 504, 506 of the IPC and launched a probe into the matter.

Nagpur: A middle-aged woman who was injured seriously in road mishap on March 4 succumbed on Sunday during course of treatment at a private hospital.

The deceased, Sadhna Shashikant Puradbhat (53), resident of Plot No. 15/16, Sai Apartment, Indraprastha Nagari, Sonegaon, was riding pillion on her brother’s two-wheeler on March 4 night. Around 9.15 pm, the vehicle dashed against a roadside tree on Akashwani-GPO Road. Sadhna suffered grievous injuries and was rushed to Suretech Hospital in Dhantoli. However, she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment around 9.45 am on Sunday.

The deceased Sadhna was a relative of Vivek Puradbhat, senior journalist with Indian Express.

Sitabuldi police constable, based on information provided by Kishore Sharadchandra Poddar (51) of Trimurti Nagar, has registered a case of accidental death. Further probe is underway.

Nagpur: A lovelorn man brutally murdered a woman and injured her husband seriously in MIDC area in the wee hours of Monday. The accused killer went absconding and is subject of massive hunt by cops.

The deceased, Gitishwari (20), native of Balaghat district (MP) but presently staying at Babre’s under-construction house in Date Layout, Jaitala, was married to Chandrakumar Kishore Madavi (24) three years ago at their native place. After marriage the couple came to Nagpur for work. However, Gitishwari, angry over improper medical treatment of abortion, left Chandrakumar and returned to her parents’ house and started working independently. At the work, she came in contact with the accused Sachin Kishore Pendur (25), native of Hinganghat tehsil, Wardha district, as his brother Prem was working with Gitishwari. Love blossomed between Gitishwari and Sachin. In December 2017, Sachin took her to an undisclosed destination and both stayed there for 3-4 months. But as the accused Sachin Pendur started torturing Gitishwari, her father took her to his house four days back. Moreover, in order to avoid the accused Sachin coming in contact with his daughter again, the father called her husband Chandrakumar back and sent her with him. This action of Gitishwari’s father left the accused Sachin furious and he had threatened to kill her and other members of family.

The lovelorn accused stuck to his threat. Between 2.30 am and 3 am of Monday, the accused Sachin crashed at the under-construction house of Babre in Date Layout in Jaitala and attacked the sleeping Gitishwari and Chandrakumar with a crowbar. The accused hit the crowbar on Gitishwari’s head hard and killed her on the spot. He also attacked Chandrakumar and injured him seriously with the intention of eliminating him. The accused killed Gitishwari so that she would not return to the accused Sachin Pendur.

After finishing his job, the accused Sachin Pendur fled the spot and reportedly gone absconding.

MIDC Woman PSI J V Gire, based on a complaint lodged by Sangeeta Khemlal Parte (33), booked the accused Sachin Pendur under Sections 302, 307, 506(B) of the IPC and hunting him.

Nagpur: In the biggest action of the year, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IV) Nilesh Bharne and his squad on Monday night raided a high-profile gambling den being operated in the name of an entertainment centre near Chhota Tajbag in Sakkardara area. The raiding cops rounded up 27 gamblers, including the office-bearers of the organisation, red-handed while busy in exchanging gamble money in lakhs. Apart from cash of Rs 1.48 lakh, police seized one car, four two-wheelers, more than 30 mobile phones and other gambling material collectively worth Rs 7-8 lakh.

The raided Sports and Recreation Centre is being operated by Fulsingh Naik Krida Mandir in Chhota Tajbagh area under Sakkardara police jurisdiction. The Board of Directors Fulsingh Krida Mandir include Rajesh Kadu (Chairman), Raju Chahande (Vice-Chairman), Suryakant Chaurasia (Secretary), Damodar Kuhikar (Treasurer) and Kisna Nikhare, Mohd Jameel, Manoj Jain, and Praful Tadvekar are members. For name sake, Fulsingh Naik Krida Mandir runs the Sports and Recreation Centre but the DCP Bharne received secret inputs that a hi-tech gambling den is being operated from the centre with lakhs exchanging hands.

Acting on the inputs, the DCP ordered a close watch on the activities of the entertainment centre. After confirming the dubious activities, The DCP and his special squad swooped on the gambling den around 7 pm on Monday. The raiding cops found total 27 gamblers busy in the game.

The accused have been identified as Board of Directors of Fulsingh Naik Krida Mandir Rajesh Dayaram Kadu, Raju Sahadeo Chahande (Both Presidents), Suryakant Chaurasia (Secretary), Damodar Kuhikar (Treasurer), and Kishna Domaji Nikhare (Member), Bhagwanji Aamge, Manoj Jain, and 20 others other.


Paan Thela played the key role:
The high-profiles gamblers used to collect tokens and coins from a paan thela named Taj Paan Palace, situated outside the centre after depositing the cash with the thela owner. After gambling, the winners again used to deposit the coins and token with the ppan thela and collect cash. Even meals were being served to the gamblers at the card room and they used to stay at the club throughout the night. Most of the accused arrested were not the members of the club. Manoj Jain and Suryakant Chaurasia are alleged to be the masterminds of the ‘gambling den.’

Sakkardara cops have booked the 27 gamblers including Suryakant Chaurasia (45), resident of Sitabuldi and Manoj Jain (42) of Wardhaman Nagar under relevant sections of the Gambling Act.

Nagpur: Electric cable worth Rs 1.84 lakh belonging to Metro Rail project was stolen by unidentified miscreants between March 10 and 12.

According to a complaint lodged by Dinesh Sonu Teli (36), Plot No. 120, Navjivan Colony, 320-metre electric cable of Nagpur Metro Rial Project was kept in the compound of office of Metro Chief Manager at Shivangaon Fata (Turning). Unidentified miscreants took away the power cable worth Rs 1.84 lakh between 9.30 pm of March 10 and 5.30 pm of March 12.

Sonegaon police constable, based on the complaint, has registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC and searching for the accused burglars.

Nagpur: A 16-year old girl who had gone to school for appearing in exam was raped by a man on the pretext of dropping her at her house in Nandanvan area on Thursday, March 8. For reasons, a case was registered on Tuesday only. Incidentally, the accused rapist was known to the victimised girl. The accused also thrashed her and threatened to defame her if opened her mouth.

The 16-year old left her home on March 8 for appearing in exam. After the paper, between 2 pm and 5 pm, the accused Arman Ansari (24), resident of Kharbi, Nandanvan, asked the girl to sit on his motorcycle on the pretext of dropping her at her house. However, the accused took the girl to his own house and raped her forcibly. When the girl protested, the accused Arman beat her and threatened to defame her if she opened her mouth.

Nandanvan API Kokode, based on the complaint of the victimised girl, booked the accused Arman Ansari under Sections 376(2)(J), 323, 506 of the IPC read with Sub-Section 4 of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. Further probe is on.

Nagpur: In yet another hit-and-run incident, a young man was killed when unidentified vehicle hit his motorcycle injuring him fatally in Hingna on Tuesday. The driver, along with the killer vehicle, fled the spot after the mishap.

A resident of Ward No. 3, Bazargaon, Murlidhar Keshav Khadse (25), was going on his Bajaj Caliber bike (MH-31/AX 7986) around 7 pm on Tuesday. Midway near Vena Nursery, Dhamna Shivar, Amravati Road, a rashly driven unidentified vehicle rammed Murlidhar’s motorcycle and injured him critically. He died on the spot. A team of Hingna police reached the spot and sent Murlidhar’s body for autopsy.

Hingna ASI Ghuge, based on complaint of Sarang Keshav Khadse (33), booked the unidentified driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Section 184 of Motor Vehicles Act and launched a search to nab him.

Nagpur: In a dramatic development, the lovelorn youth who murdered his paramour and also tried to kill her husband, attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison on Tuesday morning. The accused Sachin Kishore Pendur (26), resident of village Daroda, Tehsil Hinganghat, District Wardha had earlier surrendered at Wadner Police Station in Wardha district and consumed insecticide. Wadner cops rushed him to Rural Hospital in Hinganghat from where he was shifted to a Sewagram Hospital. Soon after receiving information, a team of MIDC police, under whose jurisdiction the murder had taken place, rushed to the Sewagram Hospital to take him into their custody after his discharge.

It may be recalled, the accused Sachin Pendur went absconding after committing the brutal murder of his paramour Gitishwari Madavi, a native of Balaghat district in MP but was staying at an under-construction house in Datey Layout, Jaitala as she was working as labourer there. Three years ago, she was married to Chandrakumar Madavi. After marriage the couple came to Nagpur for work. Nagpur: One person was killed and two others were injured when a overloaded van overturned on Saoner-Nagpur Road in the wee hours of Thursday. The van was overloaded with sacks of garlic. The vehicle overturned near Koradi Octroi Post while descending the flyover. The driver reportedly lost control causing the mishap, according to Koradi police and National Highway patrolling team.

The accident occurred around 5.30 am. The van was coming to Nagpur from Saoner. As the driver lost control over speeding van, it took a sharp U-Turn, hit roadside barricades and then overturned. The spot was deluged with huge quantity of garlic. The mishap affected traffic on the busy intersection of the road. It took one hour for police and NHAI authorities to normalise the traffic.

Nagpur: Adding a new twist, Sitabuldi police have mounted a hunt for four unidentified vandals who allegedly poured inflammable stuff and set ablaze a bar and restaurant being constructed in the six-storey commercial building JP Square, at Law College Square on Amravati Road, around 2 am on Monday. CCTV cameras caught the four accused in the arson act. Based on the CCTV footage, cops are searching them.

A resident of Plot No. 267, Laxmi Nagar, Arjun Jitendra Palsingh (26), in his complaint told Sitabuldi police that he owns the bar and restaurant being constructed on 4th, 5th, and 6th floor of JP Square building at Law College Square. A devastating fire had broken out in the bar in the wee hours of Monday. The scan of the CCTV footage revealed that four unidentified miscreants poured inflammable stuff at the bar and set it afire.

Sitabuldi cops, based on the complaint, launched further investigations.


No one was injured in the fire even as the fire spread to another bar-and-restaurant in the same building before it was brought under control by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Fire and Emergency Services Department after a four-hour effort. The fire broke out somewhere on the fourth floor, and engulfed the entire floor within an hour. The intense heat from the fire shattered the huge glass windows, and soon flames were leaping up to the fifth and sixth floors. The hot glass fell like fire balls in all directions.


There was sensation in the area for around two hours, with a petrol pump located a little distance away on the other side of the road, two residential buildings abutting the building compound, and the national highway on the front side. A few youths had also expressed the fear that three-four labourers were residing in the building on the fourth floor.

Nagpur: In a happy ending but tension filled incident, a 4-year old girl, who was kidnapped by an unidentified bike-borne man, was found crying at a Ward in Government Medical College and Hospital shortly thereafter. The accused kidnapper reportedly lured the kid girl of showing her pigeons and took her away. Why she was dropped at GMCH Ward remains a mystery which the cops are trying to solve.

The Lakadganj-based complainant told police that his 4-year old daughter was playing in front of her house around 4 pm on Wednesday. At the same time, the unidentified motorcycle-borne man approached her and on the pretext of showing her pigeons, took her away. When the girl’s mother searched her, she was told by a 7-year old boy, cousin of the girl, that a bike-borne man took her for showing pigeons. Sensing something amiss, the girl’s mother immediately contacted her father who works as sanitation worker in Gandhibagh Zonal Office of NMC and told him about the incident.

The girl’s father reached home immediately and later lodged a complaint with Lakadganj police. The cops alerted Control Room and all police stations across city. The girl’s photograph was also posted on WhatsApp. In the meanwhile, guards of Maharashtra Security Force deployed at the GMCH spotted a girl crying in front of Ward No. 24 in the night on same day. They informed the Medical Police booth. The cops immediately identified her on the basis of her photograph on WhatsApp. She was later handed over to her parents. Lakadganj police are trying to obtain the CCTV footage from GMCH premises to identify the man who had kidnapped the girl and dropped at Ward No. 24.

A case under Section 363 of the IPC has been registered and a searched has been launched to nab the accused kidnapper.

Nagpur: An 18-year old rape victim, who was promised marriage by a man, delivered a baby in a hospital in city.

The accused rapist has been identifies as Shubham Krushnaji Sonule (23), resident of Zenda Chowk, Kotwali, Mahal. In July 2017, the accused Shubham doled out promise to the 18-year old girl and established physical relations with her at his residence. However, when the girl became pregnant, the accused left her in the lurch. The rape survivor recently delivered a baby in a hospital. It could not be verified whether it is boy or girl.

Kotwali police constable Najukrao, based on a statement of the victimised girl, booked the accused Shubham Sonule under Section 376 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 4, 5(J)(2), 8, 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and launched further investigations.

Nagpur: In an awful incident, an unidentified man chased a walking 19-year old girl, fell her down and outraged her modesty by indulging obscene acts. When the girl shouted for help, the pervert man fled the spot. The incident occurred in Ajni area on Thursday night. The accused is being searched.

Around 9.30 pm on Thursday, the 19-year old girl was returning home in Ajni walking. The unidentified man chased her slyly and caught hold of her at a secluded place. The man pushed her on the ground and molested her with vulgar acts. When the girl shouted for help, the accused fled the spot.

Ajni PSI Ingle, acting the girl’s complaint, booked the unidentified accused under Sections 354, 323 of the IPC and launched a search to nab him.

Nagpur: A high-profile sex racket being operated in the cover of naturopathy centre was busted in posh Khare Town, Dharampeth locality of the city on Thursday. Total eight girls were rescued in the raids at the naturopathy centre and a flat in the same area. Three men have also been arrested in this connection.

The Social Security Wing of the Crime Branch had received secret inputs that flesh trade was thriving in the garb of naturopathy centre in Dharampeth. Acting on the tip-off, cops raided the Sneha Naturopathy Centre situated Saraswati Apartment, KhareTown, Dharampeth, on Thursday and rescued eight girls. The raiding cops also arrested three men who were running the sex racket by luring and dragging young women into flesh trade.

The three arrested accused have been identified as Rajat Subhash Thakur (23), a resident of Plot No 70, Shirke Layout, Vaishali Nagar, Hingna Road, Swapnil Vijay Gupta (22), a resident of Plot No 83, Balaji Nagar, Hingna Road, and Sharad Purshottam Nandeshwar (28), a resident of Kamal Chowk, Pachpaoli.

After receiving inputs, the Social Security Wing of Crime Branch first sent a decoy to the said naturopathy centre for confirmation of the fact. After confirmation, the decoyed signalled the waiting cop who gate-crashed to Sneha Naturopathy Centre and rescued rescued four young women. However, the four rescued girls told police that the accused Rajat and Swapnil were also used to send them to Flat No 302, Avanti Apartments, Dharampeth as well for flesh trade. Armed with this new information, cops then raided the flat and rescued four more girls, besides arresting the third accused Sharad Nandeshwar.

A case was registered with Sitabuldi police who booked the three accused under Sections 3,4,5 and 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. Further probe is on.

The raid was carried out by Police Inspectors Meena Jagtap, Vikram Gaud, APIs Sanjeevani Thorat, Amol Ingoley, ASIs Ajay Jadhav, Pandurang Nikure, constables Damodhar Rajurkar, Vijay Gaekwad, woman sepoys Manju Fulbandhe, Chhaya Raut, Poonam Ramteke, and other staff under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (EoW) Shweta Khedkar.

Nagpur: An unidentified miscreant siphoned Rs 1.21 lakh from a man’s two accounts in Punjab National Bank in Jaripatka. The accused withdrew the money from ATM fraudulently between August 5 and 24, 2017.

A resident of 494, Kamgar Nagar, Jaripatka, Heeralal Madhukar Madni (46) told police that an unidentified person withdrew Rs 1.21 lakh from his two PNB accounts through ATM.

Jaripatka Police Constable Chhatrapati has registered an offence under Section 420 of the IPC against the unidentified accused and probing the matter.

Nagpur: In the spurt of hit-and-run road accidents, one more person was killed in city on Thursday.

The deceased, Baba Chintaman Gaekwad (40), resident of Devli Savangi, was returning to his village from city on his Hero Passion motorcycle (MH-31/BU 8246) around 7 pm on Thursday. Midway near Mondha Shivar in Hingna, a rashly driven unidentified vehicle rammed Baba’s bike and injured him seriously. He died on the spot. After hitting Baba’s bike, the unidentified vehicle driver fled the spot.

Hingna ASI Tiwari, vased on a complaint lodged by Pramila Baba Gaekwad (27), booked the accused unidentified driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sections 134, 184 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.

Nagpur: A 16-year old girl was raped by two unidentified men on Friday night on the pretext of dropping her at her home in Yashodhara Nagar. Cops have mounted a search to nab the accused rapists.

The teenage girl in her complaint told police that the two unidentified men in the age group of 25 approached her around 10 pm on Friday. The accused told her that they will drop her at her home. But instead of dropping her at home, the unidentified men took her to railway tracks near Bhimwadi on Kamptee Road and raped her.

Yashodhara Nagar API, based on the complaint of the rape survivor, booked the two unidentified men under Section 376(2)(G) of the IPC read with Section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Cops have launched search to nab the accused.

Nagpur: A middle-aged man was robbed of gold coins worth Rs 1.24 lakh by two women while travelling in a six-seater auto in Tehsil area on Friday night. The victim hailed from Uttar Pradesh and probably arrived in city by train.

The complainant, Rakeshkumar Deepchand Dinkar (53), native of Begpura, Aligarh (UP), boarded a six-seater auto at Ram Jhula Bridge near Railway Station around 7 pm on Friday. The two accused women also boarded the auto. Between Ram Jhula Bridge and Agrasen Square, the two women diverted attention of Rakeshkumar and slyly removed 34 gold coins worth Rs 1.24 lakh from his bag. Nagpur: District and session judge-5, A C Raut granted ad interim anticipatory bail to Pankaj Pawar in Pallavi Nagulwar case registered with Ambazari Police Station under section 306, 345 (a) of IPC against the present applicant and others.

According to the prosecution story Pallavi Nagulwar had committed suicide and her husband lodged a complaint with the Ambazari Police accusing Avinash Ghuse and others of abetting her to commit suicide. On the basis of name of Pankaj Pawar in the suicide note of Pallavi, a case was registered against him and others.

Counsel for the Appellant pointed out to court that the Appellant is a president of Lions Club and belongs to a respectable family. Further the counsel said he has been falsely implicated in the present matter. Only the applicant’s name is in the suicide note nut there is no allegation against the applicant and even no prima facie case is made out against the applicant. Further there is nothing is to be recovered from the applicant and all the allegations are against the accused No. 1 that is Avinash Ghuse and therefore there is no need of custodial interrogation of the appellant is required.

After considering same the Court granted ad interim anticipatory bail to the applicants and kept the matter for reply of prosecution on 22 March 2018.

Adv Shyam Dewani and Hitesh Khandwani appeared for applicant.

Nagpur: The telling ignorance and lackadaisical attitude of Khaperkheda cops towards the repeated complaints of Ratnamala Rangankar, who was stabbed to death by a jilted lover at Parseoni bus stop on Saturday, has led to the crime, sources told Nagpur Today. Accused Mangal Bagde, who has been repeatedly harassing Rangankar stabbed her to death by in front of her mother.

The girl had approached many times to the police in the past but the cops gave a damn to the complaint. Now voices are being raised for the suspension of the responsible cops at Khaperkheda police station. An offence of murder has been registered at Parseoni police station against Bagde (23).

It was revealed that Mangal Bagde and the deceased Ratnamala Rangankar, both residents of Parseoni, were reportedly in a romantic relationship since the past many years. Around a year ago, Rangankar got a job in WCL after the demise of her farmer father.

Since then, Rangankar started maintaining a distance from Bagde, a driver, and their relationship turned sour. After their break up, Bagde tried to convince her for marriage many times. He also harassed and embarrassed her at public places on several occasions.

Following repeated threats, Rangankar approached the Khaperkheda police and lodged a complaint against Bagde. Sources said the cops turned a blind eye towards a complaint and didn’t register an offence. However, police said the duo decided to settle down the matter as Bagde had apologized to her.
