Nagpur: As the police have tightened noose over hookah dens flourising in the city, those running outside city limits have brisked up their operations to cater to increasing number of choice makers hitting their restaurants from the city.

However the cops are in no mood to leave any loose end to nail the menace of hookah parlours once and for all. In the latest move, police have cracked down upon three restaurants running beyond city limits in Gondkhairi. These restros were allegedly serving hookah to their guests. The three hotels located on Gondkhairi-Kalmeshwar road included Wonders of World, Sky Garden and The Atmosphere.

District Superintendant of Police Rakesh Ola allegedly got the tip off that hukkah parlours are being run in these restaurants. Ola further instructed Upper SP Monika Raut to conduct raids at these place.

Later, Raut stormed into these places in a filmy style raid. During the crack down on The Atmosphere, the cops have arrested its owner Raja Khan alias Mohammed Aslam Khan, Anshuman Daniel and 10 others. Simlarly the owner of Wonders of World – Rahul Vinod Katawar, Gaurav Dhanrajani and 10 others have been arrested in the simultaneous raid.

Following the raid at Hotel Sky Garden the police have arrested Vinay and 7 other accused. Interestingly the cops formed three squads to raid three hotels simultaneously, so as not to give time to others.

Traffic cops seize truck transporting 48 cattle for slaughter

Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, Traffic police on Wednesday intercepted a truck and seized 48 cattle including cows and other bovines being transported to slaughter houses. Four persons have been arrested in this connection.

The Beat Squad of Indora Traffic Branch received information that a truck (MP-09/HF 8191) was transporting cattle from Bhopal and was going to Hyderabad. The bovines were being transported cruelly and were being to slaughter houses. Acting on the information, the traffic cops trailed the truck and intercepted in Nandanvan area. Upon checking, the cops found 48 cattle dumped in the truck cruelly. The truck worth Rs 12 lakh was seized and the cattle worth Rs 15 lakh were rescued.

The four arrested accused persons Ali Khan Rafiq Khan (28), resident of Sundarnagar, Shahjad Ali Noor Ali ((18), resident of Ward 10, Jama Masjid, Bhopal, Shain Khan Azgar Ali Khan (19) of Kalmeli and Bannu Bilas Khan (28) of Mankhedi, were booked under Sections 11(1)(G)(D)(C) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act read with Maharashtra Protection of Animals Act, Sections 83, 117 of Motor Vehicles Act and Section 119 of Mumbai Police Act.

The action was taken by Senior PI Ashok Pardhi and his staff including ASI Omprakash Kothe, constable Sunil Yadav, NPC Sanjay Nagrale, Vikas Uike, Nilesh Dubey, Dheeraj Korde, Sushil Bahire and driver Lavkush Banose under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Bhushankumar Upadhyay and DCP (Traffic) Roshan Tila

Nagpur: A police constable attached to State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group 13 shot himself dead with his service revolver at his residence in Jaitala under MIDC police jurisdiction here on Wednesday afternoon. The reason behind the constable taking the extreme step could not be ascertained immediately.

The deceased has been identified as Vinod Bhagwan Ghivande (29), resident of Plot No. 31, Datey Layout, Jaitala. Vinod had completed 8 years of service in SRPF. He was married four year ago.

Around 2 pm on Wednesday, Vinod shot himself with service revolver on his head. He died on the spot. Ironically, Vinod’s parents and wife were present in the house when the incident occurred.

MIDC police have registered a case of accidental death and mounted an in-depth investigation into the matter.

Nagpur: Raj Yadav, who allegedly killed his wife Chandrakala and dumped her body in an overhead tank of Sulabh Complex at Traffic Park in Dharampeth, has been sent to police custody remand till September 10.

The couple used to live and work at the public toilet as cleaner and caretaker. On Saturday night they got into an argument under the influence of alcohol. After few hours Yadav allegedly pulled Chandrakala’s hair and thrashed her with a bamboo. Yadav then took Chandrakala to the first floor of the building, where they used to live in a room.

However, Chandrakala died after some time. The accused then put the body in a gunny bag and dropped it in the water tank.

The murder came to light when one of the workers at the public toilet went to check the tank as the supply was blocked. Soon, Sitabuldi police was alerted, leading to arrest of Yadav.

ATM fraud: Conmen pilfer Rs 1.80 lakh from SBI accounts of 3 persons

Nagpur: In three cases of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) fraud, conmen pilfered over Rs 1.80 lakh from accounts of three persons. Interestingly, the amount was withdrawn from same ATM situated at Bhole Petrol Pump in Dharampeth at the same period of time. It is being suspected that the miscreants swindled money using devices called ‘Skimmers’ attached to the ATM machines or by other tricks.

In the first incident, Abdul Rashid Abdul Hafeez Qureshi (65), resident of Mominpura, behind Kamal Baba Dargah, having SBI ATM card was at his home. Similarly, a woman named Sunanda Nandurkar was also at her house. Both Abdul Rashid and Sunanda received messages on their mobile phones that a total of Rs 1.23 lakh was withdrawn from ATM situated at Bhole Petrol Pump in Dharampeth between 11.54 pm of Tuesday and 0003 hours of Wednesday by unidentified miscreants.

In the same case of fraud, a resident of Shravan Nagar, Vathoda Layout, Nandanvan, Sohanlal Sugriv Gautam (20) lost Rs 78,500 as probably the same the conmen pilfered the amount from his SBI account from the same ATM situated at Bhole Petrol Pump in Dharampeth between 11.58 pm of Tuesday and 0004 hours of Wednesday.

Curiously, all the three cases of ATM fraud occurred at the same period of time. The conmen could have used Net banking or other technology to commit the frauds. Together the three victims had lost around Rs.1.80 lakh.

Sitabuldi police constable Vithole, based on complaints of Abdul Rashid Abdul Hafeez Qureshi, Sunanda Nandurkar and Sohanlal Gautam, registered a case under Section 420 of the IPC read with Sections 66C, 66 of Information Technology Act and launched a search to nab the miscreants.

Nagpur: A youth was murdered brutally over love affairs in Rajiv Nagar, MIDC here on Thursday night. The accused, who went absconding after committing the murder, is being hunted.

The deceased has been identified as Bharatsingh Shivnarayan Dhakad (20), native of Gwalior, MP but presently stayed in Rajiv Nagar, MIDC. According to police, Bharatsingh was in love with the sister of the accused Sonusingh Parmendra Singh (22), resident of Rajiv Nagar. The accused, who drives auto-rickshaw, opposed the love affair between his sister and the deceased and had confronted Bharatsingh in the past.

On Thursday around 8 pm, the accused Sonusingh accosted Bharatsingh in front of his house and thrashed him severely. Later, Sonusingh whipped out a gupti-like weapon and stabbed Bharatsingh on his chest and injured him seriously. The profusely bleeding Bharatsingh was taken to nearby Lata Mangeshkar Hospital but doctors declared him dead during the course of treatment. Ironically, the deceased Bharatsingh Dhakad had returned to Nagpur two days back from Gwalior.

After committing the murder the accused Sonusingh went absconding and is being searched by cops.

MIDC PSI Jadhav, based on a complaint lodged by Surendrasingh Shivnarayan Dhakad (30), brother of deceased, has booked the accused under Section 302 of the IPC. Further probe in underway.

Nagpur: A young woman was crushed to death by a recklessly driven travel bus on Wardha Road on Friday. In another mishap, an employee of Parle G company was knocked dead by an unidentified vehicle.

In the first incident, complainant Deepali Pramod Katole (38), resident of Pushkar Aprtment, Ingoley Nagar garden Society, Wardha Road, along with her friend Sapna Ajay Moon (33), staying in same apartment, were going towards Somalwada on their Activa moped (MP-28/SD 7522) around 12 noon on Friday. While taking a turn at Cargo turning, a Wani-bound private bus (MH-40/Y 6886) of Dhanashree Travels hit her vehicle from behind with forceful impact. As a result, Sapna fell down and came under the wheels of the bus. After the mishap, the bus driver fled the spot fearing angry backlash from nearby people. A critically injured Sapna was rushed to Orange City Hospital & Research Institute but she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

Sonegaon police constable Ramesh, based on the complaint lodged by Deepali Katole, booked the unidentified bus driver under Sections 279, 338, 304(A) of the IPC and searching for him.

In another mishap, a resident of Kalamna, Umred Road, Prashant Prakash Kadu (28), and working in Parle G Factory at Bahadura Phata, was either returning home or going to the factory around 10.30 pm on Friday on his Activa moped (MH-40/AS 6320). Midway near Outer Ring Road Flyover at Adali Turning, an unidentified vehicle dashed against Prashant’s moped. He received serious head injuries and died on the spot.

Hudkeshwar API Bele, based on the complaint lodged by Ravi Gurunath Game (31) of Vaibhav Nagar, registered a case under Section 304(A) of the IPC read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for the unidentified driver.

Nagpur: Two teenage girls, both bound for college and school, went missing and have reportedly been kidnapped by unidentified persons in Wadi and Yashodhara Nagar areas.

A 16-year old girl, daughter of complainant’s sister, left her Wadi home for going to college around 7 am on Thursday (September 6). She was expected to return home by 11.30 am. However, the girl did not return and went missing since then. A search for her proved futile. It is suspected that an unidentified person lured her and abducted her.

Wadi police constable Sheshrao has, asper Supreme Court ruling that if a minor girl or boy goes missing then the case be treated as that of kidnapping, registered a case under Section 363 of the IPC and searching for the girl.

Similarly, a 15-year old girl, residing in Yashodhara Nagar area, in school uniform left home between 10 am and 11 am on Friday. She neither went to school nor returned home. Her parents searched her at all possible places but in vain. A person named Sohel could have abducted her, it is being suspected.

In this case too, the Yashodhara Nagar PSI Rathod has registered a case under Section 363 as per Supreme Court directives and searching for the girl.

Gold ornaments stolen from old couple in running auto

NAGPUR: An aged couple from Bhandara were shocked when they learnt that somebody had stolen 75 grams of gold ornaments from their bag in a running autorickshaw on Thursday afternoon. The couple had come to Nagpur for medical treatment and were going from Sitabuldi to Reshimbagh when the incident happened.

Ashok Gulabrao Bondhre (60), a resident of Kali Mata Nagar at Mauda in Bhandara, and his wife came to Nagpur for medical treatment. As a precaution, they decided to remove all their gold ornaments and kept it in a cloth bag. They hired an autorickshaw from Sitabuldi to go to a hospital at Sakkardara.

Three other persons in the age group of 25-30 years were also sitting in the auto. They alighted near Reshimbagh Chowk. The Bondhre couple continued till the hospital, where they noticed that the ornaments has been stolen. They immediately loged a complaint at Sakkardara police station. Police suspect that the three persons in tha uto might have stolen the gold ornaments. Police are trying to recover CCTV footage of the accused.

Nagpur: In a ghastly incident, a youth was killed and a girl was injured seriously when a speeding truck went berserk and crushed a roadside two wheeler parked in front of Sai Baba Mandir on Wardha Road on Saturday morning. The youth and the girl were sitting on the two-wheeler.

The identity of the deceased youth and the injured girl could not be ascertained till filing of this report.

According to sources, an LPG cylinders laden truck (MH-40/6747) was being driven rashly. The speeding truck went berserk and crashed onto the two-wheeler parked at a roadside opposite Sai Baba Mandir on Wardha Road around 11.45 am on Saturday. The unidentified youth and the girl were sitting on the two-wheeler. The two-wheeler was crushed under diesel tank of the truck killing the youth on the spot and injuring the girl seriously. The truck also dashed against wall of a nearby house.

On being informed, a team of police from Dhantoli Police Station led by woman police officer Sarita Yadav reached the spot and started investigations. After the fatal accident, a crowd of people gathered at the spot and blocked the traffic resulting in serpentine jam on the road. Traffic cops too reached the spot and cleared the jam.

NAGPUR: An FIR has been filed against builder Yogesh Punjabi at Wani police station in Yavatmal district on the charges of having unnatural sex with a juvenile boy from Nagpur. The accused has although secured a conditional anticipatory bail by depositing Rs 25,000. Yogesh has been asked not to leave Wani and the country and be present at the police station whenever police summons him.

Yogesh Punjabi run a hotel at Bajaj Nagar in Nagpur in partnership with a politician. The victim alleged that Yogesh first lured him with the promise of offering him a job and took him to Wani on the pretext of showing him an under-construction building there. He then offered Ganja and liquor to the boy, who refused to consume it. Yogesh then forcibly showed him porn clips from his mobile phone and attempted unnatural sex with him. The boy somehow managed to escape from the site.

The victim then suffered from depression and was admitted to Neuron Hospital at Dhantoli in Nagpur for several months. When he recovered, he repeatedly went to Wani police station to file a report against Yogesh Punjabi. However, every time the officials at the police station mocked and threatened him. The victim claimed that he had an audio recording of one such incident at the police station, where he was abused and threatened.

The victim then approached Yavatmal’s Superintendent of Police (SP), who directed police officials to immediately file a case against Yogesh Punjabi.

When contacted, accused Yogesh Punjabi said he didn’t know the boy and that the work at the said building had been stopped for a year now.

Nagpur: A goon and his juvenile friend went berserk at Dharampeth-based Chariot Beer Bar and Restaurant after consuming liquor on late Sunday night. The goons thrashed security guard, smashed a beer bottle on head of a waiter and demanded extortion money. The accused also threatened to kill owner and other staff of the beer bar. The goon has been arrested.

According to complainant, Akshay Ajay Dubey (25), resident of Surendragarh, Seminary Hills, and who works as Manager at Chariot Beer Bar and Restaurant, the accused Rahul Umashankar Gaure (26), resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Dharampeth and his juvenile friend consumed liquor at the bar on late Sunday night.

After having the heady stuff, Rahul and his friend started creating ruckus and manhandled the security guard. The accused also smashed a beer bottle on head of a waiter named Kishan Yadav. Rahul and juvenile friend demanded extortion money and threatened to kill owner and other staff of the beer bar.

Sitabuldi PSI Chavan, based on a complaint, booked the accused Rahul Gaure and the juvenile under Sections 324, 384, 294, 506(B), 34 of the IPC. Rahul has been arrested. Further probe is underway.

Rural Police seize 3,000 litres of blue kerosene meant for PDS

Nagpur: Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Rural Police has seized 3,000 litres of blue kerosene from a house meant for public distribution through ration card. Acting of a tip off, a team of LCB raided a house in Gondakhairi Barad village and noticed eight drums containing 1,600 litres of blue kerosene loaded on a Mahindra Bolero vehicle (MH-40/N-2610) and 1,400 litres of kerosene in seven drums stored in the house. The police immediately seized the drums, the bolero vehicle from the spot.

A police officer informed that accused Ramsing Yadav, a resident of Ravi Nagar, Nagpur was procuring kerosene from traders and selling it at a higher price. Total cost of the kerosene was Rs5.7lakh.The police have arrested Vickey RamchandraYadav(20) and Ramsingh Yadav (60), both residents of Ravi Nagar, Nagpur. Accused driver Raja Yadav (23) managed to flee the spot after the police raid.

An offence was registered against the accused at Kalmeshwar Police under Sections 3 and 7 of Essential Commodities Act. The cops will investigate involvement of Government officials and traders in the racket. In another raid, the LCB team have seized 576 bottles of country-made liquor worth Rs 46,000 from a car (MH-31/CA-2162).

The police have arrested Tejrao Devrao Dhapodkar (32) and Chandrashekhar Vinayak Dhapodkar (23), both residents of Patansaongi. The arrest was made by Police Inspector Sanjay Purandare, PSI Narendra Gaurkhede and staff Jaiprakash Sharma, Baba Keche, Chandrashekhar Gadekar, PramodBansod,Ramesh Bhoyar and ASI Sahebrao.

Nagpur: A petty brawl resulted in murderous attack on a waiter by a co-worker in Calcutta Bar and Restaurant, near Maharajbagh in Sitabuldi area on Monday afternoon. The accused co-worker slit throat of the waiter with sharp-edged weapon and also his hit on his private part with the intention of killing him. The accused went absconding and is being searched.

The accused Ghansham Madavi (30), native of Mandla (MP) and the victim Radhesham Sarate (40) were living in an accommodation provided by the Bar owner on the first floor of the bar. Around 3.30 pm on Monday, Ghansham picked a quarrel with Radhesham over some issue. In a fit of anger, Ghansham whipped out a knife from his pocket and slit throat of Radhesham and also hit on private part and fled the spot. Since Monday was ‘dry day’ on account of Tanha Pola and Marbat event, the owner of the bar did not open the bar. Meanwhile, brother of the bar owner arrived and noticed Radhesham lying in pool of blood. He informed his elder brother and rushed Radhesham to Mayo Hospital where he is reportedly battling for life.

In a fit of rage, a 48 year old man, frustrated over piling debt on him, shot dead his wife and also made failed attempt to end his life on Tuesday night in Dattatreya Nagar under jurisdiction of Sakkardara Police Station.

Police sources informed that Ravi Nagpure (48), a resident of Plot No. 164, near Sarveshwar Mandir, Dattatreya Nagar, fired a shot at his wife – Meena (40) – from point blank range, police said. The bullet hit her on the chest and she died instantaneously on the spot.

Immediately after, Ravi turned the gun on his stomach. Hearing the gun shots, neighbours rushed to Nagpure’s house and found the couple lying in pool of blood. They alerted the police.The residents rushed Ravi and his wife to hospital. Doctors pronounced Ravi’s wife dead on arrival while former’s condition is reportedly critical.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone IV Nilesh Bharne said that they have learnt that Nagpure was reeling under debt and his house was also seized by the bank. He has a plywood shop in Manewada.

He was living in a rented accommodation since a month, it is learnt. The incident sent shockwaves across Sakkardara area and large numbers of onlookers gathered at the spot.

Nagpur: The controversial Chairman of Nirmal Ujwal Coop Bank Pramod Manmode and 10 other persons have been booked by Nandanvan police on the charges of creating terror and putting hurdles in preparations for Ganeshotsav being made by society members in Nirmal Nagari, Umred Road.

According to complainant, Praful Namdevrao Karpe (44), resident of Row House No. 29, Nirmal Nagari, the residents of row houses and bungalows in Nirmal Nagari have been making preparations for celebration of 10-day Ganeshotsav beginning from September 13. The accused Pramod Manmode (56), resident of Nandanvan Main Road and 1o other accused namely Nanda Dinesh Bante, Yogesh Kanade, Praful Manohar Shende (42), Nitesh Ingle, both of Nirmal Nagari, Sheikh Jadhav, security guard, Amit Thakur, Atish Thakur, Shubham Durugkar and Harish Kadam gathered at the spot where pandal was being erected. All the accused started creating terror by indulging in menacing acts and put up obstructions in erecting the pandal around 11 pm on September 6. The accused Manmode incited other accused to create terror in the minds of Nirmal Nagari residents preparing for celebration of Ganeshotsav. The accused also misbehaved and manhandled the residents.

A complaint in this regard was lodged with Nandanvan police. Subsequently, API Valvi launched investigations and after completing the probe, booked the accused Pramod Manmode and others under Sections 143, 149, 506, 109 of the IPC. Further investigations are on.

Nagpur: A 75-year old man was injured seriously when a neighbour attacked him over car parking fracas at an apartment in Dhantoli area on Wednesday morning. A woman member of the aged man was also injured.

The victim has been identified as Ghanshyam Khandelwal (75), resident of Tranquil Apartment, Dhantoli.

According to the complainant, Nakul Prakash Khandelwal, the grandson of Ghanshyam, the accused neighbour Manish Shukla (40), who runs a laundry, picked up quarrel with the 75-year old Ghanshyam over parking of car on the road. The accused misbehaved and hit Ghanshyam with force. As Ghanshyam fell on the road, he received serious injury on back of his head and started bleeding profusely. Seeing Ghanshyam in trouble, some women members of his family rushed to help him. The women were also attacked resulting in one of them suffering injury on her leg.

Based on the complaint of Nakul Khandelwal,Dhantoli PSI Shende has registered a case and started investigations.

Nagpur: With the 10-day Ganeshotsav set to commence from Thursday, September 13, the city police force has put itself top gear to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival.

Talking to Nagpur Today, the Commissioner of Police Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay said that the city police have drawn 5-pronged strategy to ensure peaceful, incident-free Ganeshotsav in the historic and important city of Nagpur. “We have made all Bandobast for the festival. Teams of policemen would be deployed at Sarvajanik Mandal pandals to keep watch on movement of devotees. Then there will be patrolling by police squads on four-wheelers across city. Plain-clothes personnel drawn from Crime Branch as well as police stations would be keeping hawk eye on the trouble-makers. Preventive detention and action has been initiated against the anti-social elements. Help of peace committees have been solicited on a number of measures for peaceful and cheerful celebration of the 10-day festival,” he said.

“Law and order would be maintained at all cost. City police have help of various NGOs on different aspects including crowd control. We have Ganeshotsav plan in place. Security has been beefed up with various measures in place. Nagpur city has history of peaceful and harmonious celebration of Ganesh festival. This year too, the citizens of this great city will celebrate the festival in a befitting manner,” the top cop asserted.

Asked about the number of Sarvajanik Mandals installing Ganesh idols in pandals, the Commissioner said, “He has no exact number but last year around 1700 Mandals celebrated the festival. This year, the figure could reach more or less 1800. The mandals have been asked to ensure that no trouble is ensued during the 10-day festivity,” he said.

Similarly, traffic cops would be deployed in adequate numbers at vantage and busy thoroughfares for smooth vehicular movement during the festival. At many places, traffic will be regulated or diverted so that no hurdles are created. Patrolling by squads of traffic cops on four-wheelers will be done non-stop and problems will be dealt with accordingly,” the Police Commissioner said.

During immersion of idols, proper security measures will be in place to prevent untoward incidents. Cops would keep hawk eye in view of past incidents in which some enthusiastic youths had drowned at immersion places.

The top cop appealed the people to alert the control room if they spot any suspicious things lying unattended at crowded places near pandals or at any other place.

Nagpur: In an audacious act, a lovelorn youth and his five friends, all hailing from Gondia district, entered into a young girl’s house in Dhantoli area and outraged her modesty by indulging in vulgar acts. The accused also thrashed the girl and threatened to kill her. The incident took place in the wee hours of Thursday. No arrests have been made in this connection.

According to complaint lodged by the 20-year old girl, resident of Dhantoli area, the accused Gaurav Avinash Dalal (25) and his friends Vaibhav Thakre (20), Rahul Sahare and two other unidentified accomplices, all hailing from Tirora, Gondia district, entered her house at dead of night between 0130 and 0200 hours of Thursday. The lovelorn accused Gaurav Dalal asked the girl to continue their love affair. However, the girl refused, all the accused outraged her modesty by indulging in indecent acts, thrashed her and threatened to kill her.

Dhantoli PSI B G Rathod has registered a case against the accused under Sections 354, 453, 323, 504, 506(B), 34 of the IPC. Further probe is underway. No arrests have been made in the case so far.

In similar incident, a 22-year old man named Vishal Chavan, resident of Indira Mata Nagar, MIDC, entered into a 17-year old girl’s house around 1 pm on Wednesday. The accused gagged the girl and molested her. At the same time, father and brother of the girl arrived. The accused manhandled them and warned of dire consequences.

Based on the girl’s complaint, MIDC PSI Wankhede booked the accused Vishal Chavan under Sections 354, 452, 506 of the IPC read with Section 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Further probe is underway.

Nagpur: Four persons, posing as employees of Australian Consulate-General office in Chennai, cheated a man to the tune of Rs 4.20 lakh in bogus car deal.

A resident of Plot No. 283, Geeta Sadan, Wardhaman Nagar, Nagpur, Harsh Omprakash Agrawal (41) in his complaint told Lakadganj police that the accused named Chelly, Shabbir Sayyed, Adv Priti Madam (E-mail name Nitin Kumar), Irshad Ali and a Private Secretary, all posing as employees of office of Australian Consulate-General in Chennai, phoned Harsh Agrawal on August 30, 2018. All the names, probably are fictitious. One of the accused named Chelly told Agrawal that the office of Consulate-General is selling a four-wheeler and asked him to send his mail ID for sending car details. As told by the accused, Agrawal sent his mail ID. Subsequently, the accused sent the car make and model rate to Agrawal and asked him to deposit 10 percent of the car rate in two accounts 20373716587 and 37789503580 held by the fake Private Secretary and Irshad Ali respectively. Accordingly, Agrawal deposited Rs 1.80 lakh on August 30, 2018 and Rs 2.40 lakh on September 4, 2018, in the two accounts. However, when Agrawal went to the office of Australian Consulate-General in Chennai, he came to know that no such persons worked there and he was duped.

Lakadganj ASI Upadhyay has registered a case under Sections 419, 420, 34 of the IPC read with Section66(C)(D) of IT Act. Further probe is underway.
