Nagpur: In a joint action against illegal construction flourishing in the city, Nagpur Police in association with Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRD) razed illegal structures of LPK9 Bar and Restaurant in Hingna on Friday.

It is pertinent to mention that LPK9 Bar has been associated with several irregularities in the past and Nagpur Police have also conducted numbers of raids in the same regards.

Cops lead by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gajanan Rajmane supervised the action.

Pvt bank employee attacked, robbed of cash, valuables in Yashodhara Nagar

Nagpur: In a road rage, four goons attacked a private bank employee with knives and looted cash and other valuables worth Rs 1 lakh from him. The incident took place in Yashodhara Nagar police jurisdiction on Friday noon. Cops have launched a search for the accused.

A resident of Yashodhara Nagar, near Kanji House Square, Rishikesh Surendra Ganorkar (24), in his complaint to police said that he works in Suryoday Small Finance Bank and collects installment amounts from customers. On Friday, around 12.15 pm, he was going to the bank situated at Rani Durgavati Square for depositing the collected money on his Honda bike (MH-29/BB 8506). Midway near Kamptee Naka, Sai Nagar Road, the four unidentified miscreants stopped Rishikesh’s bike and attacked him with knives. They stabbed him on his thigh, wrist, hand and back and snatched a blue colour bag from Rishikesh. The bag contained Rs 78,723 cash, a Samsung company tab, and other valuables collectively worth Rs 1 lakh. After robbing Rishikesh the goons fled the spot.

Yashodhara Nagar Assistant PSI Chandrashekhar, acting on complaint of Rishikesh, booked the unidentified robbers under Sections 394, 34 of the IPC and launched a search to nab them.

Nagpur: The access to sharp-edged weapons has become a common sight in the Second Capital of the State. Earlier, these weapons were smuggled into Nagpur city. However, the worrisome revelations that the weapons used in brutal murder of notorious gambling den kingpin, Balya alias Kishor Binekar were bought from e-commerce websites. Binekar was allegedly stabbed to death by five assailants in full public view near Bhole Petrol Pump back in September. Gun crime has consistently been on the rise, and every few weeks, there is a new tragedy.

Weapons available on e-commerce websites:

Earlier, these sharp-edged weapons were smuggled into the city from other parts of the country. However, weapons like swords, choppers, knives, kukris, guptis, etc, are now easily available online and can be delivered at your doorsteps within two-three working days. It is important to note that many of these prominent e-commerce sites are the marketplace where third-party sellers can list their products for sale.

The horrifying murder of Binekar in Nagpur city had created ripples across the state. A footage of the broad-day light murder where around five assailants killed Binekar, the gambling den owner, went viral on social media platforms. During the investigation, shocking revelation came to fore as the accused had bought these sharp edged weapons from e-commerce sites.

Cake cutting by swords:

Birthdays are being celebrated in bizarre manner by some anti-social elements in Nagpur city. Miscreants using swords, long knives to cut the birthday cake has become popular in the Second Capital of the State. Recently, a youth who had uploaded a video of cake cutting using a sword went viral on social media and the Nagpur Crime Branch officials had managed to nab him. However, easy access of such weapons provokes such incidents which need to be curbed before it is too late.

Nagpur : PAREKH Brothers Jewellers, a well-known bullion trader in the city, was defrauded of Rs 9.5 crore by their three employees. The employees siphoned off three kg of gold jewellery, 30 kg of silver ornaments, shares and cash in the bank, said Lakadganj Police.

The accused have been identified as Ramkunwar Jangid, Sunil Jangid and Mohanlal Jangid.

According to police, Anantrao Parekh owns a jewellery shop – Parekh Brothers Jewellers at Flat No 401 and 402 of Gayatri Apartment in Darodkar Chowk, Lakdaganj. The accused were working in the shop for the last several years. Anantrao Parekh died a few months ago due to illness.

Therefore, the responsibility of the shop came to Anantrao’s grandson Hardik Bharat Parekh (32) Riddhi Siddhi, Bungalow No 279 (A), Shivaji Nagar. When Hardik checked transactions of the shop, he noticed discrepancies. When he questioned Ramkunwar and Sunil, they started giving excuses Hardik grew suspicious on them. He did audit of transactions during grandfather Anantrao Parekh’s tenure and transactions done by both Sunil and Ramkunwar. Hardik was shocked after seeing crores of rupees were fraudulently transferred by the employees.

A police official said that taking advantage of bad health of Anantrao, they have swindled Rs 6.88 crore to their joint account. It was revealed that Sunil Jangid had forged his grandfather’s certificate of shares worth Rs 92.85 lakh and transferred the shares to their names. They even swindled three kg of gold jewellery worth Rs 1.5 crore and 30 kg of silver jewellery worth Rs 12 lakh.

Moreover, they even registered a forged will in the name of Anantrao Parekh. On the basis of complaint given by Hardik Parekh, Lakadganj Police have registered the case under Sections 420, 408, 120 (b), 467, 468 and 471 of Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is on

Nagpur: BEWARE! If your child is using mobile phone linked with bank accounts as it is a very easy task for on-line fraudsters to dupe them with sugar-coated words. One such case is reported in Koradi area in which an online fraudster siphoned off Rs 8.95 lakh from a bank account of a man. The bank account was linked to a mobile phone of the man and his 15-yearold son was using the phone. Such incidents are cause of concern for the parents as children are widely using mobile phone to attend on-line classes.

A police official said that Dhiraj Ashok Manwate (15), a resident of Ward No 1, Koradi, was using mobile phone of his father. He received a phone call on Wednesday at 5.45 pm. The caller introduced himself as Rajesh Sharma, Customer Care Executive of PhonePe. Sharma reportedly told Manwate that he would increase credit limit of his PhonePe account and asked to download AnyDesk application from Google Play Store. After the application was downloaded by Manwate, the fraudster took full control of his mobile phone and transferred Rs 8.95 lakh to unknown bank accounts.

After realising the fraud, Manwate family approached the police and lodged a complaint. An offence under Sections 419 and 420 of Indian Penal Code read with Sections 66 (k), 66 (d) of Information Technology Act was registered by the police. A police official said that AnyDesk is a remote access mobile phone tool which provides a third party control of the user’s mobile phone.

“Such application should not be downloaded in mobile phone as it gave virtual control of phone to third party,” he said. “The parents should not give mobile phone to their children which is connected to bank account,” he further appealed.

Nagpur: A BEER Bar owner attempted to immolate himself at GPO square near the house of State Home Minister (HM) Anil Deshmukh in Sitabuldi police station area. He was immediately rescued by policemen deployed at the residence of the Home Minister. A case of attempt to suicide was registered by police against the man. The man was identified as Mayur Surendra Jaiswal (38), a resident of Plot No. 204, Shrinand Apartment, Khamla.

According to police, Jaiswal came to GPO square with a kerosene bottle on Saturday at 1.30 pm. When Jaiswal poured kerosene on himself, policemen deployed at the house of the Home Minister noticed the act and ran towards Jaiswal. They immediately snatched the bottle from him and alerted Police Control Room. Staff of Sitabuldi Police Station rushed to the spot and took the man in custody.

Police Inspector (PI) Atul Sabnis of Sitabuldi Police Station informed that, Jaiswal’s Empire Beer Bar was closed since enforcement of lockdown. Along with financial trouble, Jaiswal was also facing hard time in personal life. He started living in a rented accommodation in Rana Pratap Nagar area for mental peace.When he failed to pay rent for three months, the landlord locked the flat. Jaiswal then approached Rana Pratap Nagar police and lodged a complaint.
PI Sabnis claimed that the matter was under investigation at Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station. “As per Jaiswal’s statement, the landlord had misplaced some of his important documents from the flat,” PI Sabnis said. Mumbai/Nagpur: A sessions court rejected the anticipatory bail application of Sameet Thakkar, who was arrested in two other cases for allegedly posting defamatory content against Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and others.

Thakkar, a businessman, was arrested last month by Nagpur police after which he was brought to the city and arrested by VP Road police station. Thakkar through lawyer Aabad Ponda had filed an anticipatory bail in the third case registered by the BKC police station. The prosecution opposed the plea stating that his custodial interrogation is necessary. The court rejected the plea.

Nagpur: SENSATION prevailed in Rana Pratap Nagar area after a man was brutally murdered by three persons on Monday night. The man was abusing a woman while attending nature’s call which led to the murder, police said. The deceased was identified as Anil Palkar (48), a resident of Gopal Nagar. He owns a marriage hall in Wanadongri area. Palkar was also involved in criminal activities in past. He was acquitted in a murder case.

The police have detained one Amit Shahu and searching for Santosh Shahu and Chandan Nair. A police official said that Palkar had rented two shops near Gopal Nagar bus stop to Santosh Shahu and Amit Nair.

There was a dispute between Palkar and the tenants over some issue and both tenants were not ready to vacate the place. On Monday, Palkar arrived at the shops in inebriated condition and urinated near the shop also started abusing a woman. Amit, Santosh and Chandan Shahu objected Palkar for abusing the woman. Palkar also started abusing the youths and a quarrel broke out between them. In a fit of rage, the youths attacked Palkar with a sharp-edged weapons on neck and back. Palkar collapsed on the ground in the pool of blood. He was admitted to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. It may be mentioned that a case of murder of one Sunil Tiwari was registered in Hingna police station area against Palkar.

Since then, Anil had left Wanadongri and was living in Gopal Nagar. He was acquitted in the murder case. A case under Sections 302 and 34 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Rana Pratap Nagar police.

Nagpur: A notorious criminal of Jaripatka was brutally killed here on Wednesday night. The deceased Sagar alias Gulam Vasudev Jadhav (40) had called the accused Jitendra Anil Patil as ‘police informer’.

Irked over this, Patil attacked Jadhav with a heavy stone and killed him behind Ambedkar Hospital in Jaripatka.

Jadhav had several serious offences registered against him including murder and he was also externed from the city in the past. Following the incident, the cops have rounded up the accused Patil and launched a thorough probe into the matter.

Nagpur: In a significant action against flourishing gambling activities in city, Solapur police have arrested notorious bookie Rinku alias Amit Agrawal from Umred based farmhouse on Wednesday night.

Agrawal was accused of accepting odds on the Indian Premiere League (IPL) match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals in Solapur.

Nagpur: Road robbers targeted two women and looted them of gold booty and other valuables collectively worth over Rs 50,000 in two incidents reported in Panchpaoli and Wathoda police area on Thursday. Probably the same robbers were involved in the looting incidents.

In the first incident, a resident of Plot No. 20, Hanuman Society, Vaishali Nagar, Pachpaoli, Bhavna Kailash Tabhane (40), was returning home on her Maestro moped around 3 pm on Thursday. As she reached near home, two unidentified miscreants blocked her way by putting their two-wheeler in front of her moped. They whipped out a knife and snatched Bhavna’s gold chain and gold ring collectively worth Rs 35,000. The robbers fled the spot even before Bhavna could raise an alarm.

Panchpaoli police constable Nandkishore Walde has registered an offence under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC and searching for the accused.

Similarly, two unidentified miscreants, aged 25-27, robbed a young woman and her friend in Wathoda police area on Thursday. The complainant, Janhavi Sajan Sukhdeve (21), resident of Plot No. 22, Girija Nagar, along with her friend, aws going on her two-wheeler. Midway near garbage dumping on Bhandewadi Road, the two goons accosted Janhavi and her friend. They scared both with a knife and snatched Rs 3000 cash and a mobile phone worth Rs 13,000 from them forcibly.

Wathoda PSI Ambhure booked the two robbers under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC and searching for them.

It is suspected that with the same modus operandi, the same goons could be involved in the two looting incidents.

Nagpur: Two youths hailing from Nagpur have been brutally murdered near Dongargaon on Pachgaon-Kuhi Road, reports reaching here said.

The deceased have been identified as Kunal Thakre, resident of Narsala, and Sushil Bawne Raut, a resident of Dighori in Nagpur.

According to sources, both the youths reportedly were murdered elsewhere and their bodies dumped at a secluded place near Dongargaon coming under Nagpur Rural police jurisdiction.

On receiving information, Nagpur Rural police have started investigation.

Nagpur: In an audacious act, a man, arrested for molesting a neighbouring woman, and his wife assaulted an on-duty Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) of Lakadganj Police Station on Saturday.

The accused have been identified as Ajeetkumar Sureshkumar Jain (43) and Roshni Ajeetkumar Jain (34), both residents of Plot No. 94, Tulsi Nagar.

According to police, Ajeetkumar Jain is accused in a molestation case registered at Lakadganj Police Station. The accused who runs a cloth shop had outraged modesty of a neighbouring woman by video shooting when she was decorating her house. On the basis of the woman’s complaint, Day Officer PSI Shivcharan Ramdas Dongre called the accused Ajeetkumar to the police station. When Jain refused, PSI Dongre and staff reached his home to take him to the police station, on Saturday at 4 pm. However, instead of coming to the police station, the Jain couple allegedly attacked the PSI with a rod. The police officer sustained injuries in the attack.

A case under Sections 353, 323 and 34 of the IPC was registered by Lakadganj police against the couple and the man was reportedly arrested.

Nagpur: A decomposed body of a woman stuffed in a sack was found dumped at Jaitala Bazar Chowk under Sonegaon Police Station on Monday morning. Some locals who spotted the body, alerted the cops.

The sack, containing the naked body of the woman, who police believes prima facie looks like was raped and killed elsewhere, had one hand missing, a police source informed. However, the exact reason behind the death could only ascertain after the postmodern report.

In the meantime, the cops have sent body for autopsy and started the scanning the CCTV camera footage and going through missing person’s complaints to ascertain the identification of the deceased for leads.

Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Nagpur Crime Branch has rounded up four men allegedly for selling the Mephedrone commonly known as MD drug. Beside arresting the accused identified as Mohammad Ishtiyat Wald Mohammad Ashfaq Ansari (27), a resident of Nandanvan, Sohal Patel Wald Mazhar Patel (22), a resident of Teka Naka, Mohammad Kafiq Wald Mohammad Ayub (24), a resident of Hasanbagh and Mohammad Danish Wald Kalid Ansari (27), a resident of Mumbai cops have confiscated 34.33 gms of MD drug collectively of Rs 1,37,320.

The ANC squad was on patrolling duty when they received secret information about four men carrying MD drug. Acting swiftly on the inputs, the squad of PI Sarthak Nehete approached Bharat Petrol Pump and surrounded the four accused.

The action was planned under the supervision of Additional Police of Commissioner (Crime) Sunil Phulari, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Gajanan Rajmane, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), Sudhir Nandanwar.

Nagpur: Wathoda Police arrested a youth and recovered 12 stolen mobile phones from his possession. The accused was identified as Tipualias Sultan Ashfaque Sheikh(20),a resident of Adiwasi Nagar,Prakash Nagar.

According to police, Sheikh had robbed Amol Babarao Kale (30), a resident of Swagat Nagar, Hudkeshwar Road of his mobile phone. During investigation of the case, the police identified Tipu Sheikh as culprit and arrested him.

Nagpur: Sensation prevailed at Sakkardara after a man in his mid-thirties was shot in head on Wednesday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Umesh Ramdas Dobde, a resident of Somanwada.

According to police sources, Dobde a vegetable vendor was driving his activa moped from Bada Tajbag Gas Goddown when his was shot in the head by two unidentified bike borne miscreants. After some locals alerted Police Control Room, the officials of Sakkardara reached the spot and rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) under critical condition.

Dobde last month had an argument with one, Deepak and Rakesh. Following which prima facie they are the prime suspect in this connection.

In the meantime, cops have registered an offence under relevant Sections of the IPC and launched the manhunt of the accused.

Nagpur: The Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted bail to tainted former Congress MLA Ashok Dhawad, the main accused Navodaya Urban Co-operative Bank scam. His bail application was pending before the court, following which justice Pushpa Ganediwala on Tuesday granted bail to Dhawad.

Dhawad, along with other accused has been accused in Rs 38.75 crore scam and was arrested under Sections 420,406,409,120B,465,467,468,471,477A of the IPC besides, Section 3 of MPID Act and Sections 65 and 65Bof IT Act. Prior to this, Dhawad had moved the Supreme Court for pre-arrest bail. However, he did not get relief. After this he had to surrender.

Nagpur: A 32-year-old jeweler sustained deep cuts upon his hands and abdomen in a bid to foil a robbery at his shop here on Tuesday evening. The complainant, Parul Rammanohar Tharsekar, struggled with two armed robbers and left them with no choice but to flee, however after inflicting injuries upon the jeweler, police said.

Police sources said Tharsekar, a resident of Plot No. 90, Bhavani Nagar, Sharda Chowk owns a jewelry shop at Saibaba Nagar in Kharbi under jurisdiction of Wathoda police. On Tuesday, the two accused in their early twenties entered his shop at around 4.30 pm. The accused duo reportedly whipped out knives from their pockets and asked Tharsekar to handover cash and gold ornaments. However, Tharsekar fought back with the accused and in the process sustained deep cuts on his hands and abdomen. Tharsekar managed to raise an alarm while giving them a tough time. Fearing of getting caught, the accused duo fled the shop. One of their accomplice was waiting outside on a bike. Before anyone could manage to get their hands on accused, they zoomed away on the bike.

Based on the complaint filed by Tharsekar, Wathoda police have booked the accused duo under Sections 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery), 398 (attempt to commit robbery or dacoity when armed with deadly weapon), 34 and started the probe.
