Pachpaoli police arrest four men with two mouser guns, bullets

Nagpur: In a well-planned operation, a special squad of Pachpaoli police station nabbed four criminals who were trying to sell Mauser guns at Sagar Bar near Dayanand Park on Sunday night. Besides an USA made pistol, a country-made pistol, cops have also seized two live cartridges, three bikes and cash to the tune of Rs 2.69 lakh.

The names of the accused were given as Nitesh Ramesh Raut (35), a resident of Plot. No. 92, Jaibhole Nagar, Sachin Baburao Meshram (36), a resident of Pili Nadi, Komal Devidas Raut (40), and Aniket alias Tinu Ravi Dhanokar (24) both residents of Vaishali Nagar. All the accused have been booked under Section 3+25 of the Indian Arms Act read with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act and placed under arrest.

On Sunday night, Assistant Police Inspector, Suraj Surose received a tip-off that the said accused were set to make a deal at Sagar Bar. Acting swiftly on the information, API Surose along with constables Vijay Yadav, Dyaneshwar Jadhav, Mahesh Jadhav, Vinod Gaikwad, and Balakrishna Rathod laid a trap near bar premises and nabbed the four accused.

The arrest was supervised under the guidance of DCP Zone 3, Rahul Makhanikar and Senior PI Pachpaoli, Ashok Meshram.

Nagpur: Nandanvan police have launched a search for a 28-year-old man who allegedly kidnapped a 12-year-old boy from Sumit Nagar locality between 11 am of September 15 and 6.30 pm of September 16.

A resident of Sumit Nagar, Sarika Anil Pawar (39), in her complaint told Nandanvan police that the accused Vishesh Vinod Deoghare (28), a resident of Dwarka Nagari, Plot No. 81, Kharbi Road, allegedly lured her 12-year old son Tanmay and taken away to an undisclosed destination. Initially, Sarika and other relatives searched Tanmay but could not find him. Suspecting the role of the accused Vishesh Deoghare in abduction of the 12-year old boy, a complaint was lodged with Nandanvan police.

PSI Kaluse has registered an offence under Section 363 of the IPC and mounted a search trace the boy as well as the alleged abductor.

Nagpur: A drunkard man attempted to kill his wife by poisoning over money in Yashodhara Nagar police jurisdiction. The accused has been booked but not arrested as yet.

A resident of Pawan Nagar, near Rahul Buddha Vihar, the complainant Ashwini Devendra Ramteke (24) had got married with accused Devendra Udaramji Ramteke (27) in 2017. However, since their marriage, Devendra started tormenting Ashwini mentally and physically over money. The accused used to beat her severely.

On September 7, Devendra came home under influence of liquor as usual and thrashed Ashwini severely. As a result of beating, Ashwini was unable to cook food and was starving for 2-3 days. The accused Devendra, on the pretext of feeding her, forced her to drink a stuff laced with poisonous substance. As health of Ashwini deteriorated, she was taken to Mayo Hospital by her relatives. But later she was admitted to a private hospital.

Yashodhara Nagar Assistant PSI Tripathi, based on Ashwini’s complaint, booked the accused Devendra Ramteke under Sections 307, 504, 506 of the IPC and started investigations into the case.

Nagpur: An auto driver and his accomplice attacked another auto driver murderously by stabbing him repeatedly with a knife over some dispute in on Tuesday afternoon. Cops are searching for the accused.

The accused have been identified as Shubham, the auto driver aged around 25 years, resident of Somwari Quarters, Sakkardara, and Rakesh Kudeshi (28), resident of Vishwakarma Nagar. The two accused had picked up a quarrel with victim Dinesh Sakharam Gadge (44), resident of Bajrang Nagar, Ajni, on September 14 over boarding of passengers.

On Tuesday, September 17, around 4.45 pm, the two accused Shubham and Rakesh accosted Dinesh near Ganeshpeth Bus Stand and started fighting with him. During the brawl, Rakesh caught hold of both hands of Dinesh and Shubham attacked him with a knife. He stabbed Dinesh on his chest, back, abdomen and hand with the motive of killing him. The profusely bleeding Dinesh was taken to a hospital.

Ganeshpeth ASI Bhaskar, based on a complaint lodged by Sheikh Sardar alias Sheikh Salim Sheikh Mohammed (41) of Tajbagh, booked the two accused under Sections 307, 34 of the IPC and searching for them.

Nagpur: In an audacious act, an unidentified person kidnapped a 15-year old girl and took her in an auto in front her father in MIDC area here on Tuesday evening. Cops have mounted a search to trace the girl as well the abductor.

According to police, the 15-year old girl, resident of MIDC area, was seen by her father travelling in an auto around 7 pm on Tuesday. Suspecting some foul play, he immediately called her but the auto zoomed away speedily. Since then the girl has been missing. Her father searched her at all possible places but could not find her. Finally, a complaint was registered with MIDC police in this connection.

Assistant PSI Purshottam, as per Supreme Court directives, registered an offence under Section 363 of the IPC and mounted a search to trace the girl.

Kamptee cops intercept vehicle, rescue five bovines

Nagpur: New Kamptee police, in a midnight action, intercepted a vehicle and rescued five bovines being transported for slaughter. However, the unidentified vehicle driver managed to escape taking advantage of darkness and being searched.

Cops received a tip-off around 1.30 am of Wednesday that some bovines are being transported in a vehicle cruelly on Dragon Palace Road. Acting swiftly, a team of cops laid a trap and intercepted the vehicle. Cops found five bovines being smuggled in the vehicle for slaughter. However, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot owing to darkness. The rescued bovines were shifted to nearby Gorakshan Shala for further care. The rescued bovines are worth Rs 60,000 and the seized vehicle (MH-31/EA 5295) is valued at Rs 2.50 lakh.

The action was carried out by PSIs Dnyaneshwar Kandekar, Ganesh Munde, DB Squad’s Pappu Yadav, Mangesh Yadav, Mangesh Lanjewar, Raja Taklikar, Satish Thakur, Sudhir Kanojiya, Aniket Sangle, Sandip Gupta, Mangesh Sarpate under the guidance of DCP Nilotpal, ACP Rajratan Bansod and PI Santosh Bakal.

Nagpur: In a major action, Kalamna police have arrested five accused and rescued 93 bovines being transported to slaughter houses. The action was part of the special drive conducted between September 16 and 18. Besides rescuing the bovines, cops have seized three trucks collectively worth Rs 30.34 lakh.

The names of the arrested accused were given as Khemraj Meghchand Tekam (35), Dilip Nandlaal Bagade (26) Irfan Rashid Sheikh (23), all residents of Gondia, Mohammad Irshad Qureshi (25) and Mohammad Asif Ahmad (33), both residents of Teka Nayi Basti.

Kalamna police squad led by Senior PI Vishwanath Chauhan and PI (Crime) Nitin Fantagare and comprising APIs Ulhas Rathod, Bhimgonda Patil, PSIs Rajprasad Randivye, Anil Ingole and Constables Dashrat Mishra, Rameshwar Bargat, Sunil Tidke, Mangesh, Rajesh Naik, Ashok Tayde conducted three different raids, based on the secret information they received about the trafficking of bovines and made the arrest.

The drive was supervised by DCP Zone 5, Nilotpal and ACP Rajratan Bansod.

Nagpur: A jilted lover threatened a 17-year old girl to marry her forcibly in a court if she did not take back police complaints lodged against him. The accused also molested the teenage girl in broad daylight when she had gone out to buy medicines on Tuesday.

The 22-year old accused has been identified as Karan Kamble, residing in MIDC area. According to police, the girl, resident of same area, was on her way to medical shop when Kamble accosted her midway at around 1.30 pm on Tuesday. Kamble caught hold of her hand in full public view and threatened her to take back police complaints she had lodged against him in the past, or else her younger sister will face the same mental and physical trauma she had gone through. Kamble also warned the 17-year-old girl that soon as she will turn 18, he will abduct her and forcefully marry her in the court.

Terrified of the threats, the girl returned home and narrated her ordeal to her mother. Following which the mother-daughter duo rushed to MIDC police station and filed a complaint against Kamble.

Based on the complaint lodged by the victim girl, MIDC police have booked Kamble under Sections 354, 504, 506 of the IPC read with Section 12 of the POSCO Act 2012 and started the investigation.

Nagpur: Three new police stations at Kapil Nagar, Pardi and Wathoda were inaugurated on Wednesday at the hands of Guardian Minister Chandrashekar Bawankule and State Minister Parinay Fuke. With the addition of these new police stations, total number has gone to 32 in city. Commissioner of Police Dr. Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay, Joint Commissioner Ravindra Kadam, Additional Commissioner of Police (North Division) Shashikant Mahavarkar, DCP Zone 5 Nilotpal, DCP Zone 4 Nirmala Devi, DCP HQ Vikram Sali, ACP Prashuram Karyakarte, ACP Rajratan Bansod and ACP Vijay Dhopavkar, and others were present on this occasion.

The new police stations are created by bifurcating the existing Jaripatka, Nandanvan, and Kalamna police stations under the Nagpur City Police Commissionerate.

Senior Police Inspector Prabhakar V Matte will lead Kapil Nagar Police Station. Senior PI Bapu Dhere has been given charge of Wathoda Police Station while Senior PI Sunil Shivaji Chauhan will look after Pardi Police Station.

With additional three police stations, the City Police aim to ensure better policing in these areas located on the outskirts of the city.

Nagpur: Kalamna police have rounded up three accused including a juvenile boy for killing their 41-year-old landlord over a money dispute in Kalamna vicinity on Friday, September 13.

The accused trio living in a rented room behind Shani Mandir, Naka No. 4 stoned their landlord Ramlal Daddiprasad Jaiswal (41), originally hailing from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh to death on Friday night.

According to the police, Jaiswal had come to Nagpur for treatment of hair on Friday. After visiting the doctor, around 9 pm, Ramlal went to his house located in Adarsh Nagar, Kalamna, for recovering rent from the accused tenant Ankush Jaiswal. However, a brawl erupted over rent money between Ramlal and Ankush. In a fit of anger, Ankush with the help of Praveen alias Anup Satyanarayan Sahu (19) and a juvenile boy attacked Ramlal with stones and killed him.

On being informed about the incident, a team of Kalamna cops led by Senior PI Vishwanath Chauhan, PI (Crime) Nitin Fantagare, API Anil Ingole, Constables Dashrat Mishra, Anil Tumsare, Dilip Jadhav, Narendra Tidke, Prashant Gabhane, Praful Dhavle, Durgesh Makde, and Sharad started the investigation into the matter and arrested two accused and detained the juvenile boy.

The arrest drive was supervised by DCP Zone V Nilotpal and ACP Rajesh Pardeshi.

Nagpur: In a distressing incident reported under Kamptee police, a one-month baby girl was allegedly strangled to death and dumped inside a nearby cattleshed in the wee hours of Thursday. Though the exact reason behind this murder could not be ascertained yet, cops have rounded up deceased girl’s mother Payal Kanoje and grandmother Pustakala Kanoje, residents of Aroli in Mauda tehsil in this connection.

According to police, the girl born on Janmashtami this year, was undergoing treatment at Kamptee based private healthcare. Her father Anil, who earns livelihood by working in farm, would travel Aroli to Kamptee with Payal to provide ideal healthcare for their a baby girl. After first visits, the baby girl started recovering well. Following which, Anil on Wednesday had brought his baby girl for a routine check up at the hospital and was accompanied by wife Payal, mother Pustakala and brother Sunil.

As it was way passed the evening, Kanoje family decided to accommodate at their relatives place in Ranala on Wednesday night. Later in the night when Payal woke up she found her baby girl missing. Payal subsequently, alerted Anil and others who then launched the search of the girl but in vain. Following which, they alerted Kamptee police. Acting swiftly on the information the cops rushed to the spot and started investigation. During the same they found girls body dumped in a nearby cattle shed.

Based on the preliminary information, Kamptee police have put deceased girl’s mother Payal and grandmother Pustakala under scanner for the crime and also scanning CCTV footage for leads.

Nagpur: Jaripatka police have booked a youth for allegedly molesting and defaming a 19-year-old girl he had met in a birthday party back in December 2018.

The accused Deepak Matlane has also been accused of threatening the victim with dire consequences and demanding Rs 50,000 as extortion money.

According to the police, the victim met accused Deepak at her relative’s birthday party in Jaripatka. Deepak reportedly took her number from her cousin’s phone and started talking to her. However, after a while when the victim refused to entertain him, Deepak started stalking the 19-year-old girl. He would call her from various numbers but in vain. Irked over this, Deepak created fake profiles of the victim on social networking sites with an aim to defame her. Deepak also reportedly called her mother on phone and abused the victim. He also sought Rs 50,000 as protection money from the 19-year-old.

Based on the complaint lodged by the victim, Jaripatka police have booked accused Deepak under Sections 354 (D), 504, 506 of the IPC and Sections 67 of the IT Act and started the investigation into the matter.

Nagpur: At least 14 persons were duped collectively of Rs 2.15 lakh by the gang of 3 tricksters who would promise to appoint victims’ vehicle at a private or government firm in exchange for verification fees.

The matter came to fore when one of the complainants, Chandrakumar Sukhilaal Janghel (52), a resident of Flat No. 32, Gulshan Nagar lodged a complaint against accused Atul Bagde and his two accomplices.

According to police, Atul (28) along his aides had rented an office in Wanjra Basti, on Kamptee Road. Between September 16 and 18, the accused trio lured complainant Janghel with a promise of deploying his Tata Ace (MH/31/CQ/7366) at a private company and sought Rs 23,000 on the pretext of registration and verification charges. As the trio had promised a hefty amount in return, Janghel paid the said amount.

However, he never received any confirmation from them. Sensing something amiss, Janghel then approached Kalamna police station and filed a complaint. During the same, it was revealed that Atul and his accomplices had tricked at least 14 persons and siphoned hefty amount of Rs 2,15,800 from them.

Kalamna police have booked the accused trio under Sections 420, 34 of the IPC and started the investigation.

Beltarodi cops intercept car, seize stock of country liquor

Nagpur: Beltarodi police intercepted a car and after a high chase nabbed the driver who was transporting a stock of country liquor illegally on Wednesday.

A team of Beat Marshal staff comprising sepoys Rakesh Rudrakar and Manojkumar Shahu among others were on patrol duty at Nagpur Bypass on Amravati-Jabalpur Highway around 5.30 pm on Wednesday. The two cops noticed that a white coloured Honda City car (MH-06/AB 0432) coming from Panjri direction.

However, the driver of the car, seeing the cops, made a U-Turn and tried to flee. Suspecting something fishy, the cops gave a chase and intercepted the car by overtaking it near Velohari village. However, the car driver Keshav Ade (20), resident of Ramai Nagar, Pili Nadi, Yashodhara Nagar area, tried to escape but was nabbed after a hot chase. On being checked, the two cops found a stock of 2600 bottles of country liquor worth Rs 67,000 being transported illegally. Cops seized the liquor stock as well the Honda City car worth Rs 4 lakh.

The accused driver Keshav Ade was booked under Section 65(A) of Maharashtra Prohibition Act and placed under arrest.

The action was carried out under the guidance of DCP Zone 4 Nirmala Devi, ACP Vilas Sonavane, Senior PI Vijay Talware by constable Sanjay Hood, NPCs Sanjay Bante, Anand Kamble, Dharmapal Abhyankar, sepoys Rakesh Rudrakar and Manojkumar Shahu.

Nagpur: An unidentified miscreant robbed driver of a four-wheeler of Rs 10,000 cash when he was waiting at traffic signal at Agyaram Devi Square on Thursday night. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Ganeshpeth police.

In his complaint, Chandrashekar Harishankar Sharma (48), a resident of Plot. No. 57 Tukdoji Nagar, Dighori told the police, that after finishing from in Sitabuldi, he was driving home via Cotton Market Road around 9 pm on Thursday. He stopped his four-wheeler (MH-49/AE 3752) Agyaram Devi Chowk traffic signal. During the same, an unidentified man approached the driver end of his vehicle and directed him to pull down the window glass.

As he pulled down the glass, the man forcefully snatched away Rs 10,000 cash kept inside the side-pocket of his shirt. Before he could react, the robber fled the spot.

9 members of family hurl casteist slurs, thrash couple over property deal in Hingna

Nagpur: Nine members of a family picked up a quarrel with a couple over a property deal and hurled casteist abuses and also thrashed them severely in Hingna area on September 1. Cops, after a thorough investigation, booked the accused under relevant sections.

A resident of Mouza Dhamna, Linga, the complainant Vinod Dajiba Ambade (40) told police that one Devendra Turankar, cousin brother of one of the accused Raju Sambhaji Turankar, sold his house to him. Angry over the deal, the accused Raju Sambhaji Turankar, Shibha Raju Turankar, Nayan Raju Turankar, Rani Raju Turankar, Baby Khade, Praful Khade, Vaibhav Turankar, Ravi Turankar and Vijay Turankar, in connivance with each other, picked up a quarrel with Vinod and his wife. During the wordy duel, the nine accused hurled casteist slurs and also thrashed the husband-wife duo severely.

Hingna Assistant PSI Dhanorkar, based on Vinod’s complaint, booked all the accused under Sections 143, 147, 149, 427, 323, 504, 506 of the IPC read with Sections 3(1)(R)(S)(2), 3(2)(1) of Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and started probe.

Nagpur: A youth working as an engineer at a private firm died allegedly after drowning in Ambazari Lake on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Harshal Gedam.

Harshal, originally a resident of Mumbai was working at IT Park. To capitalize Sunday’s holiday, Harshal along with his three-four friends made a plan to visit Ambazari Lake in the morning. However, when all were engaged in playing water activities Harshal suddenly drowned in the lake and died.

Following which, his friends alerted Ambazari police, acting swiftly on the information the cops rushed to to the spot. Based on the preliminary information cops have registered a case of accidental death and investigation further

Deceased was removed from job, implicated in Rs 50 lakh extortion case by accused

Nagpur: Kalamna police have booked a wine shop owner and two managers of Sitabuldi-based Madhur Wine Shop on the charges of abetting suicide of their 29-year-old employee. The accused had allegedly falsely implicated the deceased Atul Prabhakar Thaware in Rs 50 lakh extortion case causing distress to him.

A resident of Plot No. 108, Netaji Nagar, Kalmna, Atul Thaware committed suicide by hanging to ceiling hook with the help of a nylon rope at his residence on August 20, 2019. At that time, Kalamna police had registered a case of accidental death and launched in-depth investigation.

During the probe, the complainant Manisha Atul Thaware (27), wife of deceased, informed police that her husband Atul Thaware (29) was working at Sitabuldi-based Madhur Wine Shop. He had taken 4-day leave for his brother’s marriage on May 19, 2019. However, when Atul went on duty after his brother’s marriage, one of the two accused managers Shekhar Sonkusare told him not to come for work. Taken aback by the development, Atul was under severe stress. However, the situation took a worse turn when Atul came to know that newspapers on May 31 reported that a case has been registered against him at Wadi Police Station accusing him of demanding extortion money of Rs 50 lakh. The report was given by another accused Manager Shekhar Borkar. Subsequently, Atul went in deep depression over the fact that the two accused managers and the owner of wine shop Vishal Jaiswal falsely implicated him in the extortion case and spoiled his life. Under severe trauma, Atul ended his life by hanging to ceiling hook with the help of a nylon rope at his residence around 4.30 pm on August 20, 2019. Cops found a suicide note written by Atul in which he blamed the accused wine shop owner Vishal Jaiswal and the two Manager Shekhar Sonkusare and Shekhar Borkar for his suicide.

Kalamna PSI Jadhav, based on probe and suicide note, booked the accused Vishal Jaiswal, Shekhar Sonkusare and Shekhar Borkar under Sections 306, 34 of the IPC. No arrest has been made in the case so far.

Nagpur: A 17-year old girl, working at a cloth shop, went missing and probably kidnapped from Sakkardara area on Saturday.

According to police, the teenage girl was working a cloth shop in Om Nagar, Sakkardara. On Saturday, around 10 am, she left home for going to the shop. For some reason, the girl’s mother went to the shop and was told that she did not come to the shop. Panicked over the development, relatives searched her frantically but in vain. Finally a complaint in this regard was lodged with Sakkardara police.

PSI Dhade, as per Supreme Court directives, registered an offence under Section 363 of the IPC and searching for the girl.

Nagpur: Local Crime Branch of Kanhan Police on Sunday arrested a notorious criminal and recovered from him a country-made pistol. The accused has been identified as Sunil Vansraj Yadav (29), resident of Khadan No. 3, near a masjid. The arrest is being termed as a first violation of Model Code of Conduct.

Cops received information that the accused was standing in front of Vaidya Medical Stores, Tarsa Road Square around 7 pm on Sunday. Acting on the information, a team of cops reached the spot and detained Yadav. Upon frisking, cops found a country-made pistol hidden in his track pant.
