Nagpur: A gang of seven goons unleashed a trail of fury under Beltarodi police station as they launched brutal attack on two persons while also ransacking three vehicles in Beltarodi police station area on Monday night.

Police sources said identity of the goons was not established so far.

Complainant Atul Babanrao Katkar (30), a resident of Flat No. 201, Nirmmanav Apartment, Balpande layout, Narendra Nagar, and his friend were attacked by the criminals at Kalyaneshwar Apartment, Narendra Nagar and ransacked three cars.

The police have registered the case under Sections 143, 147, 323 and 427 of Indian Penal Code.

Nagpur: A conman defrauded a builder to the tune of Rs 23.50 lakh in a dubious land deal. Ajni police have booked the accused and probing the matter.

A resident of Plot No. 473, Tiranga Square, Nehru Nagar, Moreshwar Chintaman Saur (50) runs a firm Mahalaxmi Builders and Developers. In his complaint to Ajni police, Moreshwar said that the accused Sachin Jageshwar Patil, resident of Plot No. 12, Din Prajahit Colony, Narendra Nagar, approached him on August 7, 2018, and told him that he has been given authority to negotiate a deal for sale of land situated at Mauza Besa, Khasra No. 39.

On the pretext of such bogus authority and after winning trust of Moreshwar, the accused Sachin Patil made a written agreement for sale of the said land with him between August 7, 2018 and April 2, 2019. In return, the accused took Rs 23.50 lakh as earnest money from Moreshwar.

But neither the land was sold to Moreshwar nor his money returned by accused. Cheated in the deal, Moreshwar had filed a petition in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate on July 4, 2019. The court passed an order in accordance with the provisions under Section 156(3) of CrPC. Subsequently, Moreshwar lodged a complaint with Ajni police on September 24, 2019 in this connection.

Ajni Assistant PSI Dehankar has booked the accused Sachin Patil under Sections 420, 406 of the IPC and probing the matter further.

Nagpur: Raging to settle score over an old feud, three drunk men gang-raped a woman at knife-point and another accused clicked video of the heinous crime. The accused then blackmailed the victim by threatening to make the video public if the police complaint lodged against them by her husband is not withdrawn. The shocking incident occurred in Pachpaoli police jurisdiction on August 3, 2019 night. No arrest has been made so far in this connection.

As per details, a resident of Pachpaoli area, the victim woman around 11.30 pm on August 3 started water pump as water was not coming to her bathroom. Later she went to the terrace of the building to see whether water is coming to the tank. At that time the accused Jagjitsingh alias Romi Gurcharansingh Chandok (57), Narendrapalsingh Gurcharansingh Chandok (59), Gurmitsingh Saini (58) and Tanvirsingh Gurmitsingh Saini (38) were consuming liquor at the terrace. Seeing the victim woman at the terrace the accused caught hold of her and pushed her on floor.

The accused whipped out a Kirpan and threatened to kill her by throwing her down from the terrace. Later three accused abused her sexually and the fourth accused clicked video of the crime. The accused blackmailed the victim by threatening to make the video viral in social media if the police complaint lodged against them by her husband is not withdrawn. Moreover, the accused also threatened to thrash her husband as was done on August 7, 2013.

Following the incident, the victim had lodged a complaint before the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Pachpaoli Assistant PSI Subhashsingh has registered a case against the accused under Sections 376(1), 506(2), 34 of the IPC and started investigation. No arrest has been made so far in this connection.

Nagpur: A hardcore criminal, who was externed from city limits for two years, entered the city slyly but was nabbed by Pachpaoli police in the wee hours of Wednesday. The goon was carrying lethal weapon and was creating ruckus in Lashkaribagh locality when he was rounded up.

A resident of Lashkaribagh, Naya Nakasha, the notorious goon Pawan Parmanand Moryani (31) was externed from city limits on May 20, 2019.

Over a dozen offences of serious nature were registered against him under various sections of Indian Penal Code, Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 or COTPA, 2003 and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984 at Pachpaoli and Jaripatka Police Stations.

Pachpaoli police received information that the externed criminal had entered the city without permission from competent authority and was roaming with sharp-edged weapon around 0430 hours of Wednesday.

Acting on the inputs, a team of cops reached Lashkaribagh, behind Jaiswal Restaurant and nabbed the goon. He was booked under Section 4+25 of Arms Act read with Sections 142, 135 of Mumbai Police Act and put behind the bars.

The task was carried out by Senior PI Ashok Meshram, API Pawan More, constable Chintaman Dakhole, NPCs Ravishankar Mishra, Vijay Jane, Sunil Wankhede, Dinesh Shukla under the guidance of DCP Zone 3 Rahul Maknikar.

Nagpur: In an audacious act, a miscreant reportedly sneaked into Sadar-based Hotel L B in the wee hours of Wednesday, cut the wires of CCTVs and fled with Godrej Electric Safe containing Rs 10.44 lakh cash. The matter came to light when hotel staff found electronic safe missing and alerted the hotel owner, Praveen Shyamrao Dharmik.

Based on the complaint lodged by Dharmik (31), a resident of Jagnath Budhwari, Sadar police have booked the unidentified accused under Section 380 of the IPC and launched a manhunt.

According to police sources, the theft occurred between 0400 and 0430 hours of Tuesday. The unidentified burglar sneaked into Hotel L B located at 2 A Mount Road Extension through open shutter and first snapped wires of CCTV to hide his identity. The miscreant then took away the Godrej Electric Safe containing cash Rs 10.44 lakh slyly.

Cops have mounted a hunt to nab the unidentified burglar. Hand of an insider is not being ruled out.

Nagpur: Wardha police have rounded up 6 persons, including 3 women who have allegedly
attacked on Jaripatka PI Parag Pote in Wardha Court on Wednesday afternoon.

The name of the prime accused who attacked PI Pote with cutter was given as Maroti Manik Marghate (59) besides, cops have also rounded up Rakhi Maroti Marghate (29), Sohan Ashok Dengre (24), Savita Ashok Dengre (55), Manoj Maroti Marghate (45) and Neha Manoj Marghate (30).

According to Wardha police, a quarrel broke down between two families in the Court Premises when PI Pote had gone to intervene into the matter at around 2:30 pm. Furious over which Maroti Manik Marghate attacked the PI Pote’s abdomen with a cutter. Though, PI Pote managed to inundate the attack, the cutter left deep cut on PIs’ abdomen.
Following the incident, Wardha police rounded up all the accused.

Nagpur: Crime Branch arrested two car lifters hailing from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh and recovered a Hyundai Creta car stolen by the duo in city.

A resident of Suraj Nagar, Hingna, Anil Sadashiv Mahdure had lodged a complaint with Hingna police about his car stolen on August 26, 2019. Anil had parked his white Hyundai Creta car (MH-40/BE 1079) in front of his house around 10 pm. The car was stolen by some unidentified person(s). Apart from Hingna police, Crime Branch was probing the case. During the probe, sleuths came to know that the car was serviced at Hyundai Showroom, Wadi, just a day before theft. As the key of the car was lost, Anil had given duplicate keys to the showroom.

The Crime Branch sleuths scanned CCTV footage at showroom and found two unidentified persons standing near Anil’s car. Enquiry revealed the two persons were not employees of the showroom.

Subsequently, cops scanned around 50-60 footages of CCTV on various routes. The efforts bore fruit as the cops came to know that the two suspects had gone to Bilaspur. A team of cops immediately wenbt to Bilaspur and detained the two accused namely N Manish Kumar N Maheshwarrao (24) and Mohd Yusuf Mohd Iqbal (24), both natives of Bilaspur. During the questioning, the dup confessed stealing the car. Cops seized the stolen Creta car worth Rs 13 lakh.

The arrest was made by PI Khandale, PSI Mayur Chaurasia, head constable Ravindra Gawande, NPC Narendra Thakur, constables Pravin Rode, Sagar Thakre, Krunal Masram, Suhas Shingne, Suraj Bhongale, Ashish Patil, driver head constable Dubey under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nilesh Bharne, DCP (Detection) Gajanan Rajmane and ACPs Sudhir Nandanwar and Kishore Jadhav.

Nagpur: A 23-year old hostel girl was raped forcibly by Warden on Thursday, September 26 night. The accused Warden also threatened the victim to keep silent otherwise she will be ousted from the hostel and deprived of training and placement in any company. The heinous incident occurred in Hingna police jurisdiction. The accused has been booked but not arrested so far.

The 23-year old complainant told Hingna police that she was undergoing training under Deendayal Upadhyay Gramin Kaushalya Scheme from May 2019 to July 2019 at school’s hostel in Ghuti. During the training, she and the accused Warden Pankaj Leeladhar Wadaskar (25) came to know each other. Taking advantage of their “friendship,” the accused Warden on Thursday, September 26 around 10 pm called the victim to the second floor of the hostel and told her to bring balm.

Thinking the Warden might have been needing balm, the girl went to the second floor of the hostel. As she went there, the accused Warden caught hold of her hand and forcibly took her to a room and raped her. The accused Pankaj Wadaskar threatened the victim she will be driven out from the hostel and deprived of training and placement if she disclosed the incident to anybody. However, the girl gathered courage and registered a case against the accused Warden with Hingna police in this regard.

Assistant PSI Dhanorkar, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Warden Pankaj Wadaskar under Sections 376(2)(D), 506 of the IPC and started investigation. No arrest has been made in this connection so far.

Nagpur: In a major crackdown, the special squad of DCP Zone 5 Nilotpal on Saturday raided an illegal slaughter house in Old Kamptee and seized a whopping 13 tonnes of beef worth Rs 19.50 lakh. Cops have also seized a truck and two mini-trucks collectively worth Rs 27.50 lakh. Two accused were nabbed after a chase but four others managed to escape.

The special squad received a tip off that massive quantity of beef is being loaded in a truck with the help of two small vehicles in front of the illegal slaughter house in Old Kamptee police jurisdiction. Acting on the tip-off, the special sqaud raided the place. On seeing the cops, the accused numbering 7-8 tried to escape. Cops chased them and succeded in arresting two of the accused. The raiding cops found that the beef is being loaded in a truck (MH-40/BG 3113) with the help of two mini-trucks (MH-34/AB 7085 and MH-30/AV 0269). The beef was being smuggled to some other place outside Maharashtra or State itself. The beef weighing 13 tonnes worth Rs 19.50 lakh was seized. The three vehicles worth Rs 27.50 lakh were also confiscated.

The two arrested accused have been identified as Irshad Ahmed Pyaresaheb (31), resident of Bhajimandi, Kamptee and Mohd Javed Khan (31) of Madan Square, Kamptee.

The successful action was carried out by the special squad API P D Annachhatre, NPCs Suraj Bharti, Vinod Sontakke, Prabhakar Mankar, Chetan Jadhav, Mrudul Nagre, Ravindra Raut under the guidance of DCP Zone 5 Nilotpal.

Cops have booked the accused under Maharashtra Animals Preservation Act and investigating the matter further.

Nagpur: Social Security Branch (SSB) of Crime Branch on Saturday unearthed a sex racket being operated at DK Restro Lounge & Rooms. Besides a Russian girl, the sleuths of SSB also has rescued an Aasam and Raipur based woman after the raid. The SSB squad has also arrested two men from the Kotwali based Hotel and booked their two aides. According to police, the Russian girl has reportedly arrived in Nagpur from Delhi by a flight. While others came from their natives’ place.

The names of the accused were given as Dipesh Dilipbhai Kanabar (35), a resident of Matoshree Apartment, CA Road and Sachin Kashinath Sonarkar (34), Sanjay Nagar, Ram Nagar. While cops have also booked their two aides Ankit Kishor Wahane (19), a resident of Bhande Plot, near Shitlamata Mandir, Umred Road and Rajesh Harishchandra Ghokhe (35), a resident of Pachpaoli under relevant sections of the IPC.

According to sources, the police had sent a decoy customer for a deal and the raid was conducted after the deal was fixed. The cops have rescued the three girls who were forced into prostitution and booked the accused under Prohibition of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) and placed them under arrest.

Nagpur: A 5-year old boy who was fatally injured after a fall from staircase at his residence on September 26 evening, died during treatment at Mayo Hospital on Sunday, September 29.

Amit (5), son of Veeru Bhore, resident of Siraspeth, near Nandurkar Wada, Imambada, slipped and fell from staircase around 6 pm on September 26. The kid suffered critical injuries and was rushed to Mayo Hospital. However, Amit succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment around 6 pm on Sunday, September 29.

Imambada Assistant PSI Ravindra Humne, on the basis of information, registered a case of accidental death and launched a detailed investigation into the matter.

Nagpur: Jaripatka police have booked a man on the charges of raping a 27-year old woman on the pretext of marriage. Shockingly, parents of the accused have also been booked for abetting the heinous crime by ‘assuring’ the victim of arranging her marriage.

A resident of Jaripatka area, the 27-year old woman was working with the accused Krunal Kishore Savarakar in a recruitment company. Following which both became acquinted with each other. After some days, the accused Krunal lured the woman with marriage promise and abused her sexually between September 1, 2018 and September 30, 2019.

Moreover, the accused parents Meena Kishore Savarkar and Kishore Savarkar, all residents of Powergrid Square, abetted the heinous crime by ‘assuring’ the victim of arranging her marriage with accused Krunal.

Jaripatka API Nerkar, based on a complaint lodged by the victim woman, booked the accused under Sections 376(N), 506 of the IPC and started investigation.

Nagpur: A married woman ended her life by jumping from third floor of a building where she was residing in Hudkeshwar area here on Monday. Exact cause of the woman taking the extreme step could not be known immediately.

The deceased as been identified as Sonali Amardeep Rangari (30), resident of Plot No. 304, Building No. 1, Anand Vihar in Hudkeshwar police jurisdiction.

According to police, Sonali ended her life by jumping from third floor the building between 11.30 am and 12.50 pm on Monday. The reason behind Sonali taking the extreme step could not be ascertained immediately.

Hudkeshwar API Patil, based on information provided by Amardeep Bhalchandra Rangari (32), husband of deceased, has registered a case of accidental death and launched a probe from all angles.

Nagpur: Mankapur police rounded up a notorious vehicle lifter and recovered five stolen two-wheelers from his possession.

Following a lead provided by one of the complainants who suspected a without number Activa moped as his own, cops launched search of the accused vehicle lifter. Acting on secret inputs, a team of Mankapur police zeroed in on the suspect Sheikh Sajid alias Monu Sheikh Saeed (31), resident of Tajnagar Slums, near cooler factory, Mankapur.

The accused used to repair Honda company’s two-wheelers. During the interrogation, the accused initially tried to mislead cops. But when he was brought to police station and subjected to intense grilling, he confessed stealing four Activa mopeds from Mankapur area and one Activa from Ajni jurisdiction.

The accused Sheikh Sajid alias Monu Sheikh Saeed was booked under relevant sections of IPC and placed under arrest. Cops have recovered five stolen Activa mopeds collectively worth Rs 1.47 lakh from his possession.

The arrest was made by Senior PI Wazir Sheikh, ASI Dnyaneshwar Shede, head constable Rameshwar Gite, NPCs Santosh Rathod, Rajesh Warthi, sepoys Hitesh Farkude, drivers Anil Mishra, Azmat Sheikh under the guidance of DCP Zone 2 Vinita Shahu and ACP Rekha Bhavre.

Nagpur: Four members of a family cheated a middle aged man to the tune of Rs 50 lakh in a dubious property deal.

The accused have been identified as Sharad Mohanrao Armarkar (60), Shalini Sharad Armarkar (53), Vinod Mohanrao Armarkar (48), and Manisha Vinod Aamarkar (42), all residents of Flat No. 492, Garoba Maidan, Harihar Nagar.

A resident of Flat No. 19, Bank Colony, Setiya Chowk, Jariptaka, Pralhad Namomal Setiya (53) told Jaripatka cops that the four accused negotiated a deal with him to sell their land at Khasra No. 25/123, Plot No. 225 for Rs 90 lakh in year 2008. As per the deal, Setiya paid 10 lakh as initial amount by cheque and later paid Rs 40 lakh in cash to the accused family.

However, instead of keeping their word of selling the plot to Setiya, the accused Aramarkar family sold the plot to one Bharat Ashok Dhapodkar (27), a resident of Jaggannath Budhwari. As the fraud came to fore, Setiya approached Jaripatka police station and filed a complaint.

Jaripatka police constable Shatrughan booked the accused under Sections 420, 34 of the IPC and started probe.

Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit 3, after a painstaking investigation, succeeded in nabbing a hardcore criminal absconding since past 14 years. The accused Nafeez Khan Idris Khan (36) was involved in assaulting a man and kidnapping him with the motive of eliminating him.

On December 23, 2006, a brawl had erupted between the complainant Nitin Krushnarao Gumgaonkar (22), resident of Deshmukh Apartment, Plot No. 40, Dattatray Nagar, Sakkardara, and accused Nafeez Khan over some money dispute. The accused had attacked Nitin and kidnapped him in a car (MH-31/Z 393) with the motive of killing him. A complaint in this regard was lodged by Nitin and the accused Nafeez Khan and his accomplices were booked by Ajni police under various sections. Some of the accused were arrested but Nafeez Khan went absconding and since then was dodging police net.

On Wednesday, October 2, Crime Branch Unit 3 received information that the absconding accused was spotted at Urs of Tajuddin Baba at Tajbagh. Acting on the inputs, a team of cops rushed to the spot and trapped Nafeez Khan.

Nagpur: An unidentified man was stoned and stabbed to death and his body was dumped in a farm in New Kamptee area on Wednesday afternoon. Some accused, who have also not been identified, murdered the man and disposed of his body with the intention of destroying evidence. Cops have launched investigation to establish identity of the deceased as well as the accused killers.

According to New Kamptee police, body of the unidentified man was found thrown into farm of Raju Munnaji Khade at Ghorpad around 3.15 pm on Wednesday. The man was stoned and stabbed to death by unidentified persons somewhere else and body dumped in the farm with the motive of destroying evidence. On being informed, a team of cops reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.

New Kamptee Assistant PSI Shirsath, based on a complaint lodged by NPC Atul Baliram Rathod, has registered a case under Sections 302, 201 against the unidentified accused. A probe has been launched to establish identity of the deceased as well as accused killers.

Nagpur: Husband, in-laws of a woman, who ended her life by jumping from third floor of a building in Hudkeshwar, have been booked for abetting her suicide over money demand.

A resident of Plot No. 304, Building No. 1, Anand Vihar, Hudkeshwar, Sonali Amardeep Rangari (30) had ended her life by jumping from third floor of the building where she was residing on Monday, September 30. Cops at that time had registered a case of accidental death and launched a probe from all angles.

During the probe, it came to the fore that accused husband Amardeep Bhalchandra Rangari (32), father-in-law Bhalchandra Rangari, mother-in-law Satva Bhalchandra Rangari and sister-in-law Sakku, native of Akola, frequently tormented Sujata mentally and physically and demanded her to being money from her parents. Fed up with the torture, Sujata committed suicide on September 30 by jumping from third floor of the building.

Hudkeshwar API Naik, based on probe report and a complaint lodged by Babinanda Namdeo Patil (53), mother of deceased and nativre of Navi Mumbai, booked the accused under Sections 304(B), 306, 498(A), 34 of the IPC. Further probe is underway.

Nagpur: MIDC police have booked two men for exploiting a woman sexually and abetting her suicide. The deceased Sujata Manish Nath Paharva (29) had committed suicide by hanging to roof hook at her residence in Amarnagar, Ward No. 1, MIDC on September 27, 2019 morning. After registering a case of accidental death, MIDC police had launched a probe.

During the investigation, Manish Purshottam Nath (29), husband of the deceased Sujata, and native of Seoni (MP), informed police that the two accused Vinay Nath and Durgesh Nath, both natives of Seoni, were delivering milk at Sujata’s house when she was living in Seoni.

As such they got acquinted with Sujata. But the two accused took advantage and exploited Sujata sexually. From that day, she was in trauma. Fearing defame, Sujata, who residing separately from her husband at Amarnagar, MIDC, committed suicide on September 27, 2019.

MIDC API Hattigote, based on probe report and a complaint lodged by Sujata’s husband Manish Nath, booked the two accused Vinay Nath and Durgesh Nath under Section 306 of the IPC. Further probe is underway.

Nagpur: An old woman was knocked dead by a speeding four-wheeler in Lakadganj area here on Thursday afternoon. The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the spot fearing angry reaction from nearby people.

A resident of Plot No. 363, Babulvan Masjid Line, Garoba Maidan, Damayanti Santosh Bavangade (65) left home around 4.30 pm on Thursday walking. While she was crossing the Gangabai Ghat Road near Shitala Mata Mandir, a Jeep (MH-05/E 0105), being driven recklessly, hit Damayanti hard and injured her critically. She died on the spot before medical help could be extended to her. After the mishap, driver of the Jeep reportedly fled the spot fearing angry reaction from nearby people.

Lakadganj Assistant PSI Sanjay Khobragade, based on a complaint lodged by Pratiksha Rajendra Chaudhary (21), booked the unidentified driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and searching for him.
